Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

Oh that's just beautiful. People still finding these huge game breaking bugs in 10-20+ year old games always brings a smile to my face. This one is so simple too.

Would've loved to try it out on my original save on the actual old cassete but I don't have it with me atm.

Sometimes it's found by speedrunners by accident. If you speedrun a game and really practice it hardcore you will play it a ridiculous amount of times every day. The most unlikely and rare of glitches and bugs are bound to happen sooner or later.

There are also the guys who knows computer code. They can open up the code that makes the whole game work. And through this they can find specific code that points to specific stuff happening in the game and can try it out. Obviously in this example there's some weird fuck up with the code right. The code for the psynergy Return, reacting with the code for that specific door in that specific area, reacting to the not having enough PP message, and finally reacting to interracting with the Psynergy Stone and changing the code for the Psy Stone to the code for the Sol Blade. Somehow the game believes the Psynergy Stone in that room to be the treasure chest in Mars Lighthouse, where the Sol Blade should really be. I bet someone who knows code really well could find some clues and traces of what's happening in the code. And describe it much better then me. :sweatdrop:

Any idea how much of an impact this makes on the speed run routes?

I don't really follow the speedrunning community for Golden Sun, though I know TLPlexa and others do amazing work. I would love to see one eventually get to a point where they show up at a GDQ event. I know there are RPG-focused events that feature them, but it'd be nice to get a large audience watching and thinking about the games.

Either that or being shocked as he's buried alive in them appearing out of nowhere

Actually, it has nothing to do with thinking it's the treasure chest in mars (otherwise, the "infinite" part wouldn't work). Rather, it reads garbage data which just so happens to match the ID of the sol blade.

Ah, got it. Interesting read. Again, so cool that messed up stuff like this can still be found.

Speaking of Golden Sun glitching and speedrunning, does anyone here know of any Golden Sun speedrunners to watch on twitch? As in runs it quite regurlarly?

Seccy "no fun allowed" Secundum

So many bugs that continue to be found. Someone needs to try the retreat glitch literally everywhere in both games.
