I didn't make a farewell topic but oh well. We went up to one of the highest peaks of the Smoky Mountains, it was pretty surreal up there. It was cold, wind was blowing, we were on top of the clouds, there was no sun, and it was super cool. Unfortunately it was getting dark so we couldn't go hiking any further, but we did see a bear on the drive up there. I managed to snag a pic of him before he ran off, but not as clear as I had wanted. We also visited Gatlinburg and my brother and I had fun there for a few hours; I even rode the Sky Lift which I refused to do last time we were there. My brother and I met a friend from the internet who owns his own gaming shop, which we visited; it was a pretty cool shop with some neat retro stuff and games I've never seen before (a few NeoGeo games, Sega CD, a Colecovision etc). He treated us to the best Italian restaurant I've ever been to, too. Then he told us about another good video game shop in Pigeon Forge which we finally visited on Friday. It had super friendly associates, consoles hooked up for anyone to play and it was a very clean place. I picked up The Last of Us on the PS4 there, and my brother picked up Mortal Kombat SNES and Shovel Knight on the 3DS. Overall it was mostly a really great trip. I have a lot of pics on my Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/SuperSlash395/media_set?set=a.1552213741458020.1073741831.100000082284943&type=3 I think you have to be friends with me to view it though. |

Did you find out if Pigeon Forge is where they make pigeons, or is it a forge for the pigeons to use???? |

It's my second favorite of the places I've taken a vacation in. First is Gulf Shores, third is probably the French Quarter. |

I'm actually going to Gulf Shores in a few weeks! The beach there is gorgeous! It's been a while since I've been, though! |

Nice. We always stayed at the Summer House condos, but it's so damn expensive for a full week. |

Hell, it's damned expensive for half a week. I've never gone on a vacation with pretty much just me paying for it before now. Last time I went to the mountains, it was with a big group of people so we all split the cost of rooms and everything. And the beach has always been with my parents. I know vacationing is expensive, but you don't realize how expensive it is until you actually start planning one. Now me and my boyfriend are going and I'm like "Holy shit, what did I get myself into?" But despite that, I'm pretty excited about it. |
