Based on the list in the first post, I would suggest these 4 movies mixing comedy/action/fantasy/horror (in this order) : -Hellboy (2004) -Hellboy 2 : The golden army (2008) (Those 2 are inspired from the "Hellboy" comics by Mike Mignola and are directed by Guillermo del Toro) -The Mummy (1999) - The Mummy returns (2001) And with 100% less horror, I would suggest : -Prince of Persia (This one is part of "the Prince of Persia" franchise that holds quite a number of games) |

Oh yeah also look into The Babadook and It Follows. A liiiiittle overrated maybe, but they're very good horror films that don't rely on gore and jump scares.

Thank you to everyone who recommended movies to me so far. In the last couple of days, I rented and watched The Last Samurai, Fight Club, and Gone Girl. The Last Samurai was by far my favourite, although I loved them all. I hope to watch a few more this week.I have actually seen Coraline and The Big Short (both were really great) but I don't remember....too much about them, as I may not have been sober at the time of viewing them. On a similar note, I went to see a movie recently with a close friend. Neither of us can remember what it was called, or reaaaaally anything about it, as we had previously gone to a lovely alley near the theatre where many ladies of the night hang out and many people go to get high, so if either of us ever figures out what movie that was, I will update my "viewed" list a bit to incorporate these movies. |

Ball of Fire Arsenic and Old Lace Casablanca Sunset Boulevard Singin' in the Rain The Music Man I seem to recall you mentioning being in Toronto? If I'm not just making that up, since it's a big and cultured city, see if there are any places that do film screenings, since these ones are worth seeing on the big screen.

Yes! Actually, during Pride Month this year, I was supposed to buy tickets to many of the movie screenings they were having over the course of a couple weeks, but I ended up being too busy to make that happen whoops But yes, that's definitely a good idea |

Let me take a look and see what I can recommend that isn't on your list already, but in the meantime, do you have any kind of favorite genres/themes/etc? I can probably tailor a recommendation list a bit more that way. |

I don't really have any favourite genres, but if they are dramas or comedies, then I can get other people to watch them with me which is nice. I have been recommended many movies that are going to scare the [radio edit] out of me, and I will get to watching them I promise, but I honestly scare so easy so I can only watch one every so often because they honestly haunt me forever like I can't handle them so no more of those for now, thank you

Sunshine. Overlooked and forgotten sci-fi gem thanks to 1/3 of the movie being shit. But the first 2/3 of it is just comfy space magic. Seven Psychopaths A writer seeks inspiration for his new screenplay "Seven Psychopaths" and gets involved in the criminal underworld. Charming, witty and with a lot of pretty crazy and colorful character. Very enjoyable. Kingsman: The Secret Service Based on a comic book about a young man getting recruited to a spy organization. Do you like fun? This is a fun movie. Heat Al Pacino as a bad ass cop vs. Robert De Niro as as cold pro criminal in a race against eachother. I mean what more do I need to say two legends facing off in a very solid crime thriller. The Departed Leonardo DiCaprio as a young cop infiltrating a gang, Matt Damon as a gang member trying to infilitrate the police. Both trying to find out about the other. One of my personal favorite DiCaprio efforts. Spoiler: click to toggle and a glorious Jack Nicholson as the gang boss Spoiler: click to toggle Kick-Ass Another movie based on a comic book. What if people in real life decided to dress up and act out their superhero fantasies? Fun, colorful, violent. Good stuff. I'm a big sucker for the director Quentin Tarantino. His movies tends to have a very special style and humour: Tarantino The Master A broken navy veteran gets sucked into a religious sect and its charasmatic leader (played by Philip Seymour Hoffman, great as always, rip you glorious bastard) |

I'm honestly surprised KitN wasn't the first person to post with a long and detailed post of movies to watch, considering I've always seen him as our resident movie guy. Those are some good movies though |

Hehe yeah I was overwhelmed at first when she's seen nothing and want everything so I didn't post at first. But now I just posted some randoms off the top of my head. Will maybe, probably, come back another time for more random movies. |
