Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

I'M NOT INNOCENT!

I was pescetarian for a few months and then I switched over to being vegetarian. I'm slowly turning vegan. It is awesome to meet another vegetarian/pescetarian person! =)

Is it for morality reasons or ?
(If you don't mind me asking, of course)

*shrugs* I suppose it can seem that way, depending on where you live.
I used to live with my Nonna (er, my grandma) and together each year we'd grow 300 tomato plants, 50 eggplants, and another 100 assorted vegetables, plus 3 pear trees, so in that scenario, getting vegetables meant going into our yard compared to getting meat at the store (granted we had pet chickens but I wasn't about to kill my little buddies ahah)
And granted we've since moved, and I really only have space for basilico and parsley amoungst all my flowers, but nonetheless I still buy my food at the same store that I'd be buying meat, so it's not exactly out of the way (although I do realize that the same situation is not applicable to everyone)

You can get protein from other sources (peanut butter, beans, oats, etc)

I like meat too much to give it up, but we try to buy it from local farmers when we can, at least. Stuff from the food co-op tastes better anyway.

Aaaaanyways, I am a vegetarian, actually (about 5 years, now). I will be honest though and say that I have had fish a few times every now and then. I really don't eat meat because I feel physically so much better without it in my diet, but hey that's just me.
I also don't really ever consume other animal products, with the exception of cream for my coffee because that is a key aspect of my life.

Yay! Welcome to the team! *huuuugs*
I'm a vegetarian too! It's really nice to meet you~

Like Gnarly said, it's mostly beans and nuts (kidney beans are just my favourite food if I'm ever lazy or tired I'll just eat a whole can of kidney beans with no dressing no seasoning because it is just the best). Sometimes I cook tofu, but getting it to a the firmer texture that I like it takes time so most of the time I don't bother.
And tbh I don't like milk (unless I'm putting it in my bath water) so almond milk really helps, too

That's great! Buying locally helps everyone involved, so I respect that greatly (although I know it's not an option for everyone)

Although not a vegetarian, I'm trying to get into the habit of treating meat like a side dish instead of the entree for more meals. Make a veggie dish be the main portion with a bit of chicken or something. Basically just to make me get more veggies in my system.

I personally think that's fantastic! I think a lot of people's issues (at least back-lash that I've received) tend to be related to the idea of cutting out meat completely because some meats do contain proteins difficult to find elsewhere, which is fair, but it also contains a lot of fat that is almost completely unnecessary, so I think the idea of making meat more of a side dish is a great solution to all that

lean meats are better than fatty ones, I think. I get really annoyed when eating steak or something and suddenly GLOB OF FAT that takes forever to chew

Thanks Poui.

Ishould just start buying my own food instead of passively eating the junk my family does.

Which is more or less good food, healthwise, just not as much veggies as I wouod like.

Ahah no go right ahead!
But before you do, just know that I meant it is pretty useless to me and my personal preferences not to actual human health!
(I have somewhat of an eating disorder whoops so when I talk about fat in foods that way I ONLY mean it because I would actually rather die than eat it, not because I believe it is not important to human health)
