I see no reason why to particularly disqualify Computer Boom, unless people wish to attach a "Best Topic of 2015" restriction to that one as well. Personally, I'd be okay with that, but it's up to what people think. |

Last year we scrapped the "cannot win twice" restriction, just because there's so many more options compared to what the list was at first, and it's been so long, that repeat winners tend to be fairly unlikely. If people are still the most likely to win, then that's what it'll be. I'm not sure what you mean, Solbowz. Are you saying that "Yes, it's for 2015, make it so," or "no, it's only the board awards for 2015, it shouldn't need to be explicitly said." Can you clarify? |

In the board awards for 2015 only topics that saw activity in 2015 (or 2016 before the board awards) should qualify. I wouldn't go so far as to limit it only to topics created in 2015 or January (but if that's something people wanted I wouldn't be against it, because what's the point in having these annually if you let topics or users that haven't been significant in the past year qualify), so I don't necessarily think their should be any restrictions in place. Three posts doesn't really qualify as a lot of activity though so I'm just saying why I wouldn't nom/vote for it personally. |

Do you think that should extend to "users who were active in 2015 at least" as well, when it comes to user-category awards? |

I think it should apply to all the awards. There's never been anything officially indicating one way or the other but that's the way I've always tried to approach voting. |

I agree. The idea behind annual awards is that you look at the things that have happened in the past year and judge from that. I don't think it needs to be a hard line, but things that were very clearly not in the past year shouldn't be considered. As amazing as Computer Boom is, it's dumb just having it win multiple years, and that logic applies more or less to every category. |

Solbowz and HJ make good points. And Most Thirsty is still a dumb award. As for the topic Nell mentioned, boop.

I think Nell was referring to a place to log all possible Best Post contenders throughout the year, rather than people having to remember them all at the end of the Board Awards cycle. Anyway, that's it for the discussion time! I guess you have a bit of time to give last minute feedback, but I hereby declare myself free of obligation to respond 8) I'll launch nominations tomorrow! Look forward to it! Edited by Saturos, Jan 19 2016, 08:54 AM.

Alas for the Bright, Shining New Future that is constantly quashed by the powers that be! Powers who arrest for noble nonexisting copyright infringement, exposing them for the rotten autocratic anachronistic mess that which they are! Alas for the world in which Kraden's revolutionary optimism and warmhearted intellectualism triumphs over the present paradigm of unfairness and trauma! Wow is hegemonic establishment, alas and alack! If only more people believed in the Almighty's original teachings — that we are born scholars and sages, sacred heirs of Kraden — then we could create a marvelous sanctuary unlike any the internet, nay, the world, has ever known! (Or something alone those lines.) *carves a 'V' over topic 'D' and vanishes into nite* |

Naturally, petty editorial issues abound when one averages over 100 words per forum post. Moreover, the Void Commune lacks paid proofreaders. All already downtrodden volunteers working on the margins of Temple society. Normally, my mistakes come in the form of word omissions -- which I tend to catch and correct multiple times minutes after publishing my posts --, but this is the first time in a long time that I have run into a spelling error! |

You also missed "Wow is hegemonic establishment", though. Much fascist. So oppression. Very wow. |
