Can you go through the rules again one more time, like how old can a thread be to be nominated, etc? |

Putting in a last-minute request for "Post of the Year" as an award. We did once have Best Post... |

If we do, we should maybe make a thread where people can log suggestions for nominations throughout the year, because it's really tough to remember individual posts from the earlier part of twelve months. |

I think the only one with an extra rule would be the Roleplay topics stipulating that they have to be active in 2015. That could be another condition to add to the creative fields as well, "if the person is active in 2015." Buuut I'm leery of going overboard with that. Apart from that, I'll post some of the more general rules during the nominations, but really it'll only be that people must receive say... three nominations to pass nomination stage (I'll look at the overall numbers and see how it looks), and that I reserve the right to disqualify nominations that don't apply (someone nominated for best writer who's never done any writing, for example, or joke nominations like Boyd/Boyd's Right Hand for awards that require two people). Post of the Year sounds like a good idea, if you all can put together sufficient nominations! 8) |

I know we were talking about vote/nomination spread, but I suggest instead of having "must have more than X nominations to be on the ballot" it should be "top X nominations in the category make the ballot". EDIT: and allow people to nominate multiple things in a category (like, up to three) |

Hmmm, you're right, top three-five in each category works best. Multiple nominations is a good idea, but it sounds like it would be a bit of a pain to implement. Do you think, if nominations were three for each one, as many people would nominate if it meant filling out the whole thing? I know voting was a bit scarce last year, and I'm wondering if the extra work would weaken participation. Or if we can just say they can nominate up to three, and leave it up to them whether they want to or not. Or a max two nominations for each one could potentially help. |

Nominate up to three. People can fill in anywhere between 0 and 3. I've not been involved in the Awards process except from the minor commentary we get in the Staff Chat so I don't have any experience with what the nominations/voting is like (though I imagine, like you said, there's less participation than is desirable), but 3 nominations would let people who are enthusiastic about the thing a chance to show off a range of ideas without having to pick a favourite at this stage (which is really what voting is for), plus people can get in their joke nominations as well as their serious nominations if they want. |

Oh right, despite being bumped *just* before the board awards, can we disqualify "computer boom" from being nominated for best topic again? Like, we get it, it's a great topic, but it's in the past. |
