Adnarel, Dark Souls is currently $5 on Steam, and Dragon Age: Origins along with all the DLC is currently $7.50 ($5 without the DLC).

The time to act is now.

Depends on how fast you play and how many routes you do. There are three main endings, plus some others that vary off of those.

My playtime was like ~10 hours for all of the routes and then another ~10 hours on the final boss.

Try Fallout. It's not fantasy, but I find the universe to be utterly fascinating (post-post apocalyptic retrofuture - advanced technology with 1950s culture and aesthetics. It's sort of a homage to old science fiction, it's the future as imagined by Americans in the 1950s. Set in various locales around the post war United States) and can't get enough of it. Fallout 4 just came out, but you can probably get any of its predecessors cheaply on Steam (New Vegas is my personal favorite. 1 and 2 are turn based, 3, NV, and 4 are real time).

I'm just going to give another recommendation for The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. Definitely worth the time and the money.

I wish it had no monthly fee, outside would be a lot easier in that case.

Fallout: New Vegas is indeed great, retrofuturism is my jam. Bioshock is something that's within a similar vein but more fantastical, it's an FPS but there's plenty of customization, RPG elements and cool sci-fi magic to it. Also it takes influence from authors like Ayn Rand and George Orwell for its dystopian sci-fi setting, although focusing more on the flaws of a society built upon individualism, if that's your thing.

I just figured most JRPGs would be out of the question since it's Adnarel, rip. Clearly he should play Ar Tonelico 2 though

omg Arty quit being such a shitlord and play the game

Updating this thread to say that I finished my first playthrough of Undertale! I really, really am getting into this game. It merits a few more playthroughs at least. I'm probably going to shy away from the fandom, because I understand that it's pretty Tumblr-heavy. But I wouldn't be surprised if I created a few fanworks for this game. Music, of course.

I got an email tonight saying that I've been gifted Dark Souls from the one and only Phantom Squee! Thanks, Squee! That one will be the next for me to play.

I'd like to give a comprehensive review of Undertale, but I'd like to ruminate on the matter a bit more before I do. In any case, I'm indebted to Dracobolt for gifting me such a cool game to play.

I am not married to Adnarel.

I'll play it someday, maybe, if the games land in my laps through an act of God.

3DSwise, I'd recommend Bravely Default myself, as for PC-Dark Souls 1, as said by others (give 2 a miss).

Sound the horn and call the cry: "How many of them can we make die?"

Dark Souls 2 is better than 1, and Bravely Default is trash.

Fight me.

I figured that was just an exception, plus JRPGs usually don't place as much focus on quests and classes from my experience.

Oh damn are we going there? I disagree although Dark Souls 2 is still a fine game despite all the negative reception it's got from people with raging nostalgia-boners for a game that came out 4 years ago. Better that devs experiment instead of regurgitate the same game over again with a new title.
