Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

I was talking with one of my friends last night and she asked me what items I thought every adult should have. I thought it was an interesting question so I thought it might be interesting to see what other people thought.

Not skills an adult needs, but items.

Some of the ones me and my friend came up with were:

jumper cables
flashlight
filing cabinet
batteries
a frying pan
some form of cash-less way of payment.

So yeah. What do you guys think?

Non-emergency med stuff (so things like Tylenol, Day/Nyquil, allergy medicine, Pepto, you know the basics)
Medical Thermometer, in the same category as above really
Scissors
Packing or Duct tape
Depending on where you live, a good pair of boots for inclement weather. Seriously, I can't stress this one enough. L.L. Bean boots have been one of the best purchases I've made!

A passport. Even if you're not planning on leaving the country, its a very useful form of identification.

A safe, for the records you want kept more secure than in a filing cabinet.

Sound the horn and call the cry: "How many of them can we make die?"

I don't have one, but my interactions with my friends have led me to conclude that rice cookers are a great thing to have.

My rice cooker has been out of commission for about three months now, and no one has been more surprised at my survival without it than me. (I've been trying to justify replacing it - a $20 no-frills model - with a fancy one that can make porridge and cake and stuff).

The only thing I can think of adding is maybe a Swiss Card
Spoiler: click to toggle

Also, maybe luggage.

A hat. Or a boa constrictor. Not that adults can tell the difference :nodnod:

Also a monocle while we are at it.

The Sin Thesis

Probably overlapping a lot of stuff already said, but:

  • A large trashcan and several smaller ones for your desks, bedsides, bathrooms (esp. if you are a woman, share a home with a woman, or hope to entertain women in any capacity)
  • Rope
  • A GOOD flashlight. None of that dollar store BS.
  • A first aid kit
  • A lighter
  • A pocketknife
  • A towel
  • Dishes/silverware/a pot/a cast iron pan. Should cover a majority of what you need to cook/eat.
