Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

Yesssss, I'm super glad! What kind of Japanese fusion things do you like to make, btw? If I can breath some life into some of the Japanese food around here, that'd be great... instead of just eating mapo tofu and curry most of the time. >.>

Just embrace the thirst Lynx, no shame

there will be lots of teasing though, as you can see

I think the intro topics of all of Draco's friends have derailed into various forms of shitposting.

The easiest fusions are just...add spicy lol. Add chili flakes or sriracha to like teriyaki or ramen, spicy tuna rolls etc are so common people think they're authentic, a couple times I've used a light sprinkle of powdered wasabi to season fish before searing instead of black pepper.... Then there's the more complicated stuff like this time I made crawfish sushi, or using the holy trinity in stirfry with cajun seasonings in with the sauce. Japanese food tends to be real mild so if you make the flavors less delicate and add spice it's brand new lol

An d I stand by saying I'm not thirsty lol I'm just a small baby

Chili flakes I can definitely do, but alas sriracha doesn't exist in Japan, rip. The only hot sauce I've been able to find is Tabasco, and it's... not the same

Japanese sushi is actually kind of disappointing, it's basically just the fish slapped on some white rice

And that point it's like literally why bother, just eat glorious sashimi instead

Oh, by the way Lynx, here's the Symphogear thread!

@Saturos ahhhh that sucks, I like tabasco better personally, but it doesn't work as smoothly with ramen imo. Japanese sushi is crazy impressive, but to a western palate really bland apparently. I had to do a ton of research into it and it's amazing because there's such crazy high standards, but it's such a delicate flavor it doesn't match up to a wasabi-soaked spicy unagi roll

I've been considering posting in other threads and just...baby steps lol I'm a fear child

Sriracha is a bit cheaper and also stronger-tasting, but oh well. Japanese in general aren't so good with spicy (I once had a co-worker comment that pepper steak was spicy), but at least there's still really fantastic Indian food here.

Yeah, bland is basically how I'd put it. Or subtle if I were being charitable, but I think it kind of goes into the whole aesthetic/minimalist culture thing as a whole.

Thankfully there's still plenty of Japanese food that has more complex tastes; okonomiyaki comes to mind, which I absolutely adore.

mmmmmmm unagi, now you're speaking my language

EDIT: Oh yeah, and don't worry, Lynx! Just go at your own pace. =)
