I go online and look at all the things I would buy for myself and others if I had the money to do so. |

Depends what I'm buying. If it's clothing or something similar that I could easily get wrong (buying the wrong size, etc.) I like to be able to examine/try it on in the store so I can make sure it's exactly what I need. There's plenty of stuff I just can't find around here though, so online shopping is a godsend for those. |

If it's something that I can only own physically, like clothing or food, I tend to buy it in a store. But if there's a digital download edition, nine times out of ten I spring for that. |

If I do any shopping, it's typically online, holiday shopping in stores is an exercise in frustration. Only gifts I have bought in the past few years are steam games for friends as a surprise. I think 2-3 years ago I bought Dark Souls for 6 friends. Spoiler: click to toggle

Seeing it in-store before purchasing is always ideal, but you can find much cooler things online for gifting people. |

If I know exactly what I want to buy, I'll buy it online. If I know the general kind of thing I want to buy (books, merch, games) I'm more likely to go into a store for that and stumble across something. I like being surprised, and I enjoy that kind of shopping. |

I do it online usually since most of the time I know what I'm looking for. |

That too. Even if I know generally what I'm looking for, I like to browse around and see what else catches my attention. Yeah, you can do that online to a degree, but it's not quite the same. And there's something to be said for the atmosphere of a nice, well-kept store. |

I tend to shop online for ease of purchase for holiday shopping. Avoiding the crowds of people is great this time of year. It's also easier to find specific niche items usually not sold in most stores. For anything else, I like to go to the store and wander/look around for a while. Maybe stumble across something cool I hadn't thought to buy. |

I usually stick to online because I find it more convenient and it's easier to find more unique things to buy as gifts. But for clothes and such, I like to try them on first to make sure they're a good fit. I used to be quite a bad impulse shopper, but I'm much better about it these days. I find I go into a store and mainly browse these days instead of buying anything at all, which always feels silly to me. |

Online for most things that aren't clothes and food, it's typically cheaper and the selection isn't really good enough for video games, CDs and other things around here. Like Saturos and Squee, I do enjoy the atmosphere of a shop though, especially smaller businesses since they tend to feel down-to-earth and the employees are generally fun to talk to since they aren't concerned with shoving the latest store promotion down your throat. Used shops can be really fun since you really don't know what you're going to come across. |
