Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

Never imagined I would join a forum dedicated to (or at least, initially created for) Golden Sun, yet here I am!

How I came across this place is kind of interesting. In 2012, when I was playing and just finishing Dark Dawn, I was reading wikis and fan sites to get every last drop of the story that I could before moving on with my life. I was reading an article for Prox on the Golden Sun wiki and, near the bottom of the page, read some interesting trivia regarding Mind Read on targets you can't normally use it on. There was a link within that text that lead me to http://kprs.laronmi.net/taow/miscellany/mindread/mindread.htm, which is now sadly defunct. However that lead me to The Adepts of Weyard forum, where I lurked silently, made an account, never posted, and forgot about it.

Nearly 4 years later I receive an email from the admin of the site, Kyarorain, about the state of the forum. This brought back memories of what I was doing and thinking at the time, so I went to check it out again for old time's sake. I had found this site through them 4 years ago and never signed up; this time, I think I'll stick around.

So yeah, thanks to Kya for unknowingly bringing me here with your mass message. Without it, you'd all still be a far distant memory.

About me: I'm a software developer from the U.S., and I play too many video games, mostly SNES/N64 style platformers and RPGs. I also enjoy some anime, some of my favorites lately have been Steins;Gate and Welcome to the N.H.K. I eat a lot of spaghetti and I write a lot of spaghetti code. Also I enjoy posting on obscure internet forums and yeah that's all, ok nice to meet you all!!

Hey Gnarly! Nice to meet you. =) There are a few old-school platformer fans here, and plenty of RPG fans. What RPGs do you like?
I've been meaning to check out Welcome to the NHK, I hear it's quite good!

Being a software developer sounds cool! ^_^

I remember browsing the old TAOW site, but I never made an account there. Kya is still around here as well, though!

Hi! Nice to meet you!
Of the anime I've watched, Welcome to the NHK is my favorite.
May Kraden bless your time here.

Remember this is not a Golden Sun forum. This forum is basically just posting in "Last Person to post Wins" topic, and occasionally welcoming the next victims of "workouts for your waifus and husbandos"

I pity you.

Well, you can post in the Golden Sun section anytime, and a lot of people here are familiar with Golden Sun... there's a Weyard RP going on right now, and Clan worldbuilding therein.
It's mostly that after ten years, we've talked over most of what we could - but when someone new joins, it can be fun to talk about everything again. =)

Question! You said you played Dark Dawn, but did you ever play the first two?

Heck yeah, glad to hear that! Golden Sun series should be obvious by now, but otherwise I love the "Tales Of" series (Abyss, Symphonia, Vesperia, and picking up Zestiria soon), Final Fantasy (especially the SNES-PS era), Earthbound, Undertale, Dark Souls, and western/CRPGs like the Fallout series and Pillars of Eternity.

You should, it watched it at a time when it was pretty relevant to my life - it's likely just as good now!

It's definitely fun most days, always happy to talk about it more if you ever have any questions!

Glad to hear Kya is around here, would love for her to see that she brought another person around unknowingly. :^)

I've never even really seen forum RP like this, really intrigued by the whole thing so I might briefly skim what you guys have done. This forum is unusual in my experiences in that its seemingly been stable the entire time its been active and, thus, has a rich history of posts dating back a decade.

And yes I love the GS series, a favorite of my childhood; I played them several times :venus_djinn:

I agree that it's cool that we have a history stretching back a decade. It's great for preserving RPs and other notable topics.
But also, many of our thirteen-year-old selves, embarrassing comments and all, are preserved in those annals. And that's rough. :nyoron:

I don't know, Kiki, I think that's one of the best parts. 8D It's like being able to travel back and open an old time capsule whenever you want!
... but I think how rarely I do that speaks to the reality there >_> There's no time like the present!

Oh, there's definitely lots of people that love those games, so you'll definitely fit right in! I adore the Tales of games and love Dark Souls as well. Though I've only played Symphonia, Abyss, and Vesperia, they still stand as some of my all-time favourite games ever. =D

Yeah, I actually don't have much experience with forum RP outside of this forum, but you're always welcome to see what kind of stuff we're doing! ^^

You. I like you already. If you're interested in our roleplay, we actually have a fairly new one going, and we're eager for people to join. The GMs are working on consolidating some basic worldbuilding so it doesn't seem too daunting. We also have a Skype chat (one of many) for the Dark Souls fans here on the Temple. If you have Skype and would like to join, just let us know.

Happy to have you.

No worse than what parents are doing to their poor children on FB now, imagine coming back to find your entire life posted as embarassing pictures and videos, used to amass likes and comments from friends and fam. yikes!!!

50/50 split between Ampharos and Scizor, I'm a GS baby (also a manbaby), but I've played all the generations. I still use those 2 any time I can

Somehow missed this one what the heck?

Nope, you are so wrong PUNK, DKC FOR LIFE.

Really, DKC2 is probably one of my favorite games of all time, I just really like this obscure early 90s Super Mario Adventures comic from Nintendo Power (http://www.yoshiart.com/comics.php)

Good choice. I for one didn't like DKC2 as much as others may have since Dixie's hair twirl pretty much breaks the game on certain levels. However, I do like the overall soundtrack and theme of it more than the original. The first one was my first game ever, so I am nostalgia biased.

I also recognize that comic. Don't think that I have an intact copy left in my current house, but there used to be some pages lying around in the old basement.
