Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

Uh, hey! I'm Jembit. I used to RP on the AoA forums a looong time ago and found this forum last night when I was working on some character design for a story. Surprise, surprise I found that some of my old friends had joined at one point or another and, feeling nostalgic, thought - why not? I kept my old screen name (I never really stopped using it anyway) in case I run into someone I used to know but I don't know if I'll use my old character (Kinea) if I do join the RP.

Bit about me now: I'm a Junior at university studying environmental policy and hoping to go into water politics (guess where I live ;)). I'm pretty active on my campus so I don't know how much free time I'll have to devote here but we'll see how it goes. :)

Water politics sounds more fun than regular politics. Do you do debates in a swimming pool? :o

Glad to have you with us!

Glad to be here!

 Maybe if you have any water. I'm in California where an "exceptional drought" (<- newest extreme label) has spread through most of the state and we have to decide who's going to get the little water we have - our large farming belt that supplies food throughout the world? Business and industry to run society? Households for drinking water and hygiene? The ecosystems that support our livelihoods and environment? How much can we save and allow to build up in the aquifers? Any? When will we finally get some snow pack on the Sierras (mountain range separating CA and NV and main source of our fresh water in non-drought years)?

These are some basic questions we think about every time we discuss the issue. Never mind the actual politics and logistics involved. I could keep going but I don't think you wanted an essay. ;)

OH how do you feel about proposals to send water from the Great Lakes to California?

I live in Michigan and this was the standard topic for middle and high school assigned debates in class.

Sounds like the real life plot to that Rango movie. Except with less chameleons who channel the voice of Johnny Depp.

Lol, I guessed it was California. Politics isn't my forte but it's really cool that you're going to be tasked with such an important objective for your state's future. Best of luck!

Nice to meet you, Jembit! Yeah, that's definitely an important issue facing California right now. ^^ One of our members, Vačscent, also lives in California, and I believe he majored in environmental issues as well.

I'd definitely be interested in hearing the politics and logistics, but I'm not sure how much you want your school life to follow you here. xD

Welcome to the Temple of Kraden~!

There's no way I'll lose!

Hello new person! Welcome to the Temple!

I find it awesome that you've decided to devote that much of your life on such an important degree and, specifically, the politics of water. The way that California deals with their water shortages shapes a majority of the country's agriculture and economy as a whole, as well, so it's a very important issue!

It's not an easy thing to deal with in the professional world, and it can be quite a daunting thing to go into. You have my respect. *nod nod* I'm a biology major focusing on environmental biology, myself. Environmental policy and environmental law was one of the things I was considering for a while.

But yeah, it's always really great to see new members on here! I hope you enjoy your stays. :)
