Thinking of getting a PS Vita; Got a couple questions

So as the subtitle of this thread says, I've got a couple questions. I'm thinking of using part of my tax refund to purchase a PSVita. So the purpose of this thread is to ask a couple questions.

1. Is it possible to get Final Fantasy IX on Vita? I'm aware that it was a PS1 game, but is it available for Vita on PSN or anything like that? Note, lack of availability of this particular title on Vita would be negating the biggest reason I have for wanting to get one.

2. What games would you lot recommend I get?

Wheey! I've became a human being!! I am very handsam!

They sell digital versions of PS1 games on the Playstation Store as "PS1 Classics." Some PS1 Classics work on Vita, but some don't. I'm sure there's a list out there somewhere that will tell you specifically whether Final fantasy IX is one of them.

You can play FFIX on the Vita, but honestly if that's all you want it for then don't waste your time and just get a PS3, since they're roughly the same price now and the PS3 has the added bonus of its lineup not consisting of niche weeb games that get people mad because "oh no, breasts" and shit

I guess if you're dead insistent on the Vita you can get Soul Sacrifice? That's like the best game that you can't get anywhere else outside of Gravity Rush, which has been heavily hinted to be getting a PS4 port so now we don't even have the best Vita game anymore. I guess I'll pre-empt the inevitable Ys recommendation from Peytral, too. Anything else on the Vita you're either not going to play on principle or can get on the PS3/4.

Outside of Malicious Rebirth, which no one will play no matter how much I champion it

Honestly, I've always been more a fan of the portable gaming system than the console. Not sure why, but that's how I roll. Also, the name of Malicious Rebirth sounds awesome, what's it about?

There's also Persona 4 Golden for the PS Vita.

Adachi is not amused.

Disregard Miral, Persona 4 Golden is pretty good if you haven't played P4 on a different system before (and still pretty good even if you have).

Quick glance at Google suggests that FFIX is indeed available for the Vita for like 10 bucks off the store, so there's that for you. Not sure what else the system has going for it since I don't actually own one, but the other suggestions have been pretty solid to my limited knowledge.

I currently only have P4 Golden and Tales of Hearts R, so I automatically recommend those. P4 is one of my favorite games of all time, and Hearts is pretty fun so far (and being a Tales game, it'll provide a lot more hours than the average RPG. Same with P4G actually).

I've had people suggest getting a PS TV instead of a Vita for the price, since it plays Vita games as well. *shrug*

EDIT: "Certain Vita games." Okay then.

The Vita TV is what I have. I'll get the actual portable system eventually.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster might be something you'd want to pick up since you mentioned Final Fantasy IX. Not sure if you're a fan of either of those FF games though. Also as already suggested, Tales of Hearts R and Persona 4 Golden are also decent games to look into. I also highly recommend Muramasa Rebirth as well.

I'm not sure how big of a fan of JRPGs you are, but if you like them, then some games you might want to consider are the Atelier games (Atelier Rorona Plus, Atelier Meruru Plus, Atelier Totori Plus, Atelier Ayesha Plus), Disgaea 3 and 4, Demon Gaze, and Ys: Memories of Celceta. There's also the Hyperdimension Netpunia Re;Birth games and HDN spin-offs (Hyperdevotion Noire and the upcoming Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed), though the HDN games really depend on your personal taste.

I've also heard good things about Soul Sacrifice, Gravity Rush and Freedom Wars, though I haven't played any of these myself. They might be worth looking into though.

If you're into VNs, then the Danganronpa games might be something you'd want to look into, though like the above, I've never played them myself, so I can't say what they are like from personal experience.

If you like rhythm games, there's Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F and Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F 2nd. Not sure if the Vita has any other rhythm games besides these.

So yeah, not really sure what you're interested in, but I just threw around the games that I know of myself. Sorry if none of this is any help.
