Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

-L...learn to drive ;-;
Els, as someone who's been terrified of learning to drive for years and has literally just obtained a license, let me tell you: Get someone you trust, sit behind the wheel, and have them tell you which directions to go. Pick a small neighborhood where there won't be much traffic and you won'tbe going above 20 miles per hour.

Just drive basically in circles for a few hours. It's what got me to open up to driving more and not be quite so terrified of it.

I mean I'm still scared of it. But I drive by myself now, back and forth to work and to the store and what not.

This was pretty much how my dad taught me.

We started out in the high school parking lot on weekends when nobody was there, so I could putter around as slow as possible and learn about starting/stopping the car, turning, and parking. Once I was comfortable with that we switched to a neighborhood so I could go a little faster and learn about street signs and unexpected obstructions (nobody obeys doggy leash laws in our neighborhood). Once I was comfortable with that we went on roads with low speed limits, and then roads with higher speed limits. Freeways were last.

Then we started all over from the high school parking lot so I could learn to work a manual transmission because my parents weren't going to let me take the good car to college.

- - -

Oh, right, guess I should share my resolutions. They're pretty much the usual:

- Be healthy. More veggies, more exercise, less bacon and cheese.
- Love myself more, and work on accepting that I'm not a terrible person for making mistakes.
- Get my hobby sh*t sorted out. Seriously, I'm up to my eyeballs in things I started ages ago and gave up right away.
- Keep my job going smoothly. Leave my desk if my coworkers start picking on me, emergency chocolates and tea in the desk drawer, stop sassing the Inventory personnel just because they sassed me.
- In keeping with the above "not a terrible person for making mistakes", I need to also remember that I'm not a terrible person for asking stupid questions if I don't know the answer.

1. Exercise. Some way, some how.

2. Think less often about myself, more about others. Stay busy, essentially.

3. Adjust to married life gracefully.

4. Create a picture of Eliza, Adnarel's cat, on my tablet.
1. I did exercise some way, some how - mostly choosing to walk for errands and some biking on country roads during warm weather.

2. This happened. Partly just from getting older and also from being married.

3. Did a good job of this... SO FAR

4. Did this on paper and drew numerous renditions of our triangle cat on the fridge dry erase board.

1. Write more fiction, play less games.
2. Read outside of my curriculum more.
3. Learn Russian.
4. Do what I said I'd do and type out a game script for Dark Dawn.
5. Interact with the Temple more.
6. Start writing and recording music again.
7. Go to more concerts. Go elsewhere. Leave the United States at least once. Canada doesn't count.
8. Bolster presence.
1. I did more of both, but the ratio hasn't changed at all. I wrote more than I have in previous years, thanks solely to NaNo, but a new gaming PC, plus a huge backlog, doomed this resolution from the start.
2. My reading for this year was negligible.
3. Did not happen.
4. Making decent progress on this one.
5. I think this has started to happen? Definitely posting a little more but I still find myself keeping to a select range of topics.
6. Music-writing happened, but I have no means of recording it anymore. I did write some midi tunes that I can export to wav. format, however, so not all was lost.
7. Went to Boston for a few days in August for a concert, so...partial success?
8. Success!

- Get a job again to get out of this hotel and get things moving somewhere, at least, financially positive.

- Get my vision checked and health issues looked into.

- Drive the truck I technically do not own more and acquire a license (can't really be done until my vision issues are squared away.)

- Figure out what the [radio edit] I actually want to do with my life and stride towards that, I guess.
- Got out of a hotel briefly. The rest? Nope.
- Nope.
- Nope.
- Kinda-ish? Mostly Nope, though.

- Continue learning Japanese
- Write a novel
- Find a publisher for my book of poetry
- Visit home in summer
- Go to the Touhou convention, possibly cosplay/crossplay??
- Research PhD universities and set the groundwork for applications, to possibly start in September 2016.
- At the same time, check for college job openings around my hometown.
- git gud
- Yuuup definitely, my Japanese is way above where it was at this point.
- I wrote most of a novel? For NaNo. About 70% done, I think
- Possibly! I'm working on the letter to the publisher now and a selection, but they've expressed interest.
- Yup, did this.
- Didn't do this, timing is super awkward and I didn't want to drop several hundred dollars on what would effectively be a one-day trip to Tokyo. Yay responsibility, I guess?
- I did a bit of research, but applications were just too overwhelming and I'm unprepared (especially without my library to reference). So postponing admission til 2017.
- I did do this, and ofc, nothing. But I did find a few jobs I am qualified for that pay almost as well as my current one. Kinda.
- I am always gud

Foiled by summer job. Going to Toronto in May instead.
Tried judo class in fall. Didn't follow through since class requirement was to be able to run a mile which is a completely bullshit prerequisite for an indoor class.
Non-cat friendly in 2016.
Nope
Quit and may pick up again since going to be closer to campus.
Nope

-take better care of myself (exercise and other stuff)

-get on top of things/get these freaking applications in asap (okay so more of an immediate goal <.< >.> )

-bassoon. I am auditioning for some kinda of community orchestra in the fall. not sure which, need to find out nearby ones that meet when I don't work. Hopefully will actually keep this one

-get back to learning Japanese and random other languages. Try the thing my library has

-read more articles.

-work on drawing regularly. I want to make cross stitch patterns so I want to learn to draw.

-other crafty things: learn to crochet, figure out bookmarks/keychains

-finish the Golden Sun giant cross stitch and at least some of the other multitudes of projects I have listed in my blog

-talk to people more, make friends. will probably end up being online mostly, but maybe at cons too. try to get in contact with friends I haven't talked to in a while
-NOPE, though I did just get some vitamins recently. We'll see how long this lasts

-Well I did get the applications in, but I am not on top of things. Not at all.

-NOPE. I didn't end up auditioning for anything. At this point. I just don't have time

-NOPE. >.<

-yup! but that's probably more of a I'm in grad school now thing than the intention that I probably had, but eh.

-Not regularly, but I have occasionally been working on a bit recently....still want to draw more.

-NOPE TO THE FIRST ONE. Me and a friend have plans to learn to crochet together and then we get buried under work. Kinda to the second. Keychains didn't really work out, but I've started experimenting with barrettes.

-NOPE. I did get the row I have been working on for over a year done though so some progress. I've also made some more bookmarks and stuff but not really any of the projects I have on my blog.

-I have made more friends so yay. Still feel like I need to talk more. I did get in contact with a couple friends who I had lost contact with thanks to their wedding and I got to see them again recently ^_^
