It wouldn't be me if it didn't come unfashionably late. Please to be using the following format, as it doesn't drive me crazy. Board Awards 2015 I couldn't find the precise previous cutoff dates we used for Best New Member eligibility last time, but since the voting for the last Awards launched on January 2nd, 2014, I'm kicking it back a day and saying that as long as you joined after December 31st 2013, you're eligible. Makes it nice and simple for future Awards. I think that's it, aside from a general notice that if people have any questions about the awards, such as how nominations and voting work, the definitions/qualifications for an award (because what is consistency), or whatever else, you can post them here or PM me. This applies to members both old and new. Nominations will be locked January 23rd, 3:00 am Pacific Time. I'll sort them and then send them to Satty so he can do his weird spreadsheet shit and open the voting. Since we're going back to PMs, no one has to worry about joke nominations being discounted, although personally I've never been a fan of them. For those of you who intend to submit any, and I know you're out there, do us all a favor and try to be funny. No need to be a douche about it. Alright, I think we're set. Send me those PMs, fools. EDIT: Oh, and for awards like Most Topic Ever, Best Battlefield, etc., include the relevant links, please and thanks. We like to include them during the voting phase so members can take a look and broaden their horizons/maybe not automatically vote for their own nomination.

Dammit, Necare. :U I missed that too. Thanks for pointing it out, Tan. Most Shippable was missing too, so I edited that in. Edited by Saturos, Jan 19 2015, 07:04 PM.

*edits them back out* >________> I thought Best Taste was only to "counter" Worst Opinions, which we've gotten rid of? And Most Ship and Most Shippable are literally the same thing, Satty pls. Also, thus far I have received four nominations. Four. [radio edit]ING GET WITH IT, PEOPLE

Best taste was suggested as a separate dealie that could be used to counter worst opinions, and most shippable's a 1 person thing as to who's getting shipped with everyone everywhere whereas most ship is 2 people specifically being shipped with each other, pls. |

Best Taste seemed a pretty popular choice, and it's a good way to do a positive take on something instead of the negative. Reward people for having discerning taste instead of "punishing" them for not. Most Ship and Most Shippable are totally different. There's a difference between "These two people would make the best couple," and "I can imagine this person in imaginary relationships with many different people." After all, there were different winners last time, so evidently people thought they were different enough. <_< >_> |

Sound the horn and call the cry: "How many of them can we make die?"

I don't care about the Best Taste/Worst Taste thing, but I agree with Necare about the ship awards. Yeah, they're not completely identical, but there's enough overlap that I'd just fold them into one. |

GSR used to have "Most Confusing". It was a fun award and I would've been honored by it. |

This is, like, one of those questions that should have been raised before nominations were opened. As I understand it, Most Ship = Best Couple; Most Shippable = Temple Bicycle (which is probably why there's a bicycle on the award picture). |

Yeah, they're basically Best Couple and Temple Bicycle. If you think the distinction is confusing, we can change to the Temple Bicycle. The titanic works well for Best Ship, though. 8D Even if it's ominous. Anyway, we already had the discussion, so at this point it can't be helped. Should've brought this up when we were going over the awards and deciding what to keep, Necare. <_< |

Of course! I created the award! ... Unless, of course, we're talking about the award that has been appropriated to fit Temple establishment desires. That 'Most Innocent' goes to the countless individuals who cannot decipher my text. |

Shouldn't have given me the award list and then posted it before I gave my input, buttercup. 8D I axed Most Shippable because feedback from last year seemed to indicate a fair amount of members wanted to have either Most Ship or Most Shippable, but not both, and I like pairing awards, we need more of those. I could be wrong though. Best Taste I neglected to include because it was only brought up very recently. I'm not necessarily opposed to it, but Tan suggested it, you support it (I guess?) and we've had one or two members like Squee be ambivalent about it. No definite conclusion seems to have been reached, which doesn't seem pretty popular to me. I just figured it could be something to keep in mind for the restructuring we implement for the next Awards. Assuming we keep track of the feedback topic this time. I'm adamant about keeping Most Shippable out, but if there are members out there who really want Best Taste, you can send me your noms. If I get a bunch I'll consider it a viable category and stick it in there. For the time being though, I'm going to revel in my fascism. This is what you get when you make me the de facto organizer of the Board Awards. Disclaimer: I do not mind running the Awards.
