You even watch Precure now too literally becoming Peytral. All your points in that previous post are good though(except for the last one), much better opinions than your first post in this topic. |

I watched ONE, pls Pretty much everything about Passion, Wester, and the donut shop guy was great for the entirety of their existences, no regrets No, because it did not have adaptation changes that made sense and it's not entirely about action so the animation does not make up for it. |

I always see people praise the Cell arc. And while it is a great arc, I find Namek more compelling in some factors; the bad guys aren't too strong nor are the good guys too weak in comparison, Vegeta isn't quite a hero but still has his own agenda (the Androids would have gone down this route in Cell saga if they weren't killed off right after forming the truce with the Z fighters) and Frieza feels like a genuinely menacing villain who is worth his weight. It works quicker in some regards too. Only thing I don't like about it is that everyone is waiting around for Goku inevitably to save the day, but let's be honest...every DBZ arc is like that, lel. |

More truth bombs -Darker than Black season 2 would have been more accepted if it was a standalone show. -Project K is actually good -Related to that, a show doesn't need to explain every little thing about a world for the show to be good. As long as you can make reasonable inferences about what's going on it's fine. -Nanoha is awful -Monster of the Week is the worst kind of episodic formula. -Almost everything Urobuchi is involved in ends up being average at best. -Universal Century Gundam is a slog and probably the worst introduction to the franchise. -The OVAs I've watched for UC are actually decent, though. |

Well, getting over the fact that Saber is objectively the best in the eyes of most Fate fans would be a start. |

My experience is that most people that actually get assimilated fully into Fate/Nasuverse end up preferring Rin It's most of the casuals that unrepentantly suck Saber's dick in the west, anyway I bet Japan unironically loves Saber like every other shitty character they unironically love |

Porco Rosso says to go eat a dick. Oh yeah and since Satty is in the thread now, I think the fact that Japan never really experienced realism as an artistic movement is hurting the anime industry. Lacking familiar references from their own culture, the writers who try to make realistic works today end up looking at the western media that filters over to Japan and mistaking grimdark for "realistic." |

I'm not sure what you're talking about there, Squee. Who exactly are these writers trying to make realistic works? |

but it's true, SAC is good, but Psycho Pass is even better if you don't include the second season. If you include the second season of Psycho Pass it doesn't even hold a candle to anything.
Well it's true Japan has its fair share of grimdark "realism" stuff, I don't think it's so much a product of Western media influencing it. That kind of content has been popular in Japanese media for decades now and I think it's more of a product of graphic or "edgy" content selling well since it catches people's attention rather than Western influence playing a part in anime heading in that direction(hell, overall anime is a lot less grittier and bloodier than it used to be anyways). At the end of the day both anime and Western media have a lot of horrendous grimdark "realism" stuff that sells well regardless of whether it's actually well-written or not and will probably continue to have that stuff regardless of external influences. I'd draw the lack of legitimate realism in grimdark anime to Western influence not playing a part in it, as opposed to Japanese writers overlooking that emphasis on realism that Western stuff has. If they wanted to write a series that was more realistic, live action would be more suitable anyways since the medium is grounded in actors portraying the characters as opposed to animated characters, so the viewer can be more easily immersed in a realistic setting. |
