Member #639 Joined: June 17, 2010 Gender: Male	Because we have a video game version, and now it's animanga's turn~ I'll start. - Prisma Illya 2wei was largely boring. I've only seen the anime however. - Naruto's quality isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be. It's pretty great until the war arc, and even that arc has a few noteworthy moments. - Dubs are usually as good as the subs, if not better in some cases. - Manga with a lot of action are boring to read because the action is almost impossible to understand. I only read Naruto to keep up with the story. - Although I haven't watched it, I have skimmed through it, and it doesn't seem like the 2006 FSN anime is nearly as much of a disaster as people claim it is. It still looks sucky for sure, but I'd imagine that's because it's the Fate route and the art style in general looks off. I can't think of much else right now.

Also the translated dialogue almost always comes across stilted and unnatural.

True Name: simplechild	Truth - Madoka is too sentimental about muh teenager problems for its own good - If I can't find enough fun in watching other people play Dungeons and Dragons, why should I have fun watching Fateverse? - Millennium Actress is Satoshi Kon's best movie, followed in order by Tokyo Godfathers, Perfect Blue, and Paprika. - Fuse: Memoirs of a Huntress is the best movie of the 2010's that you've never heard of. - Trying to understand Penguindrum without running into holes in your own logic is an endeavor not worth pursuing. - Aku no Hana's rotoscope animation is far from ugly. - Storywise, the Clannad movie does about as much meaningful character development in 1.5 hours as both seasons of Clannad did in its 47 episode run. - Constantly referencing the source material in its defense/condemnation for any anime is completely irrelevant to the quality of the anime. - Shinsekai Yori is properly paced to have 16 episodes of hardcore setup before the shit hits the fan. I can't help you if you just happen to not like how this kind of science fiction works. - People praise Wandering Son for being particularly sensitive about transgender issues, but I think it gives the topic just as much importance as all the other middle school problems the entire cast goes through. Basically meaning, it's just a part of growing up like any other bodily troubles, whether or not you choose to pursue it completely later in life, and should not be elevated or downplayed as anything other than that. - Dubs are [radio edit]ing great for anime as long as the dialogue has little to no Japanese words spoken. - Long-running shounen stories are much better read than watched because I do not have to be held hostage by the anime's horrendously slow pacing.

Rebellion is a disaster of a movie. Fairy Tail is ok Akira sux Log Horizon season 2 is an awful boring follow up to the first season. Toradora's Taiga is an awful character. I'm sure I'll think of more. Edit: Simple reminded me Penguindrum is awful and can be summed up in one word.

It's not great, but there's plenty of adaptations(VN or otherwise) out there that are way worse. Action scenes can be great in manga, pretty sure you've said you're reading Berserk and it has some nice fights(although sometimes Miura has some head-scratch-worthy moments). Bokurano had some really memorable and tense fights as well. Blame! had confusing-ish fights, but I think the erratic style gave a certain atmosphere to it, it gave you a sense of panic that immersed you in the scenes that much more. -ur favurite anime a shit -Cowboy Bebop is overrated as hell and mainly well-regarded because of nostalgia. It's held back by its episodic storytelling and although some episodes do wonders for characterization, some of the other episodes are pretty much bland SoL except with bounty hunters. -Escaflowne is a horrendous mish-mash of shoujo and shounen tropes, atleast the mechs are kind cool I guess -Monogatari series is overrated, and ironically contains many of the elements people always complain about(fanservice, harem, etc.) before stating "Monogatari series is different, it's a breath of fresh air" -The best part about Evangelion is all the "clones" that it produced, since they're superior to it. ugh, I have more but nothing is coming to me.

Likewise in the new Fate/Stay Night episodes, there are long stretches of just talking about nothing of consequence which, while okay in a visual novel which has a slower pace, isn't really well-suited for an anime.

True Name: simplechild	More Truth - Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun isn't that funny. Devil is a Part-timer isn't that funny either, for that matter. - Terror in Resonance is not bad, it's just not the anime you expected it to be. - Both iterations of Fullmetal Alchemist have their fair share of equally damning flaws. - I'm tired of watching shows where teenagers are both terrible towards each other and colossally stupid because they're teenagers and are thus immune from all legitimate criticism. - Chuunibyou's second season is a whole bunch of meaningless fluff but that doesn't make it bad.
