Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! You become a Kradenette.

So it may have taken... well a considerably long time to say the least, but I've finally decided to create an account over here. For those of you who recognize my name little introduction is needed, and for those of you who don't here's a small rundown.

I'm an Australian gaming enthusiast (to say the least) who started his interest around the age of 3 or so when I witnessed my father and uncle playing the original MechWarriors on Microsoft's "The Zone". This sparked my (near)obsession with games that continues to this day, over all those years I dedicated a lot of time to playing as many different games and genres as I possibly can. I would try and get my hands on any and every system I could, and those I couldn't I would spend countless hours at friends houses who did own them. All the way up to the present day, where I've studied a few years of Media & Design and then into Games Development, alongside Games Development Theory in distance education.

As for my history with GS, well I happened upon it at release entirely by accident and bought it on a whim because I thought the name sounded cool. Of course, it stands today as one of my favourite RPGs of all time and my #1 GBA games (Yes they can be counted as one spot, shush). From this love, years ago I decided to seek out other fans and happened upon a small myfreeforum.org site called GoldenSunNation, with whom I joined up and quickly became a moderator for. As traffic there began to dwindle, I moved away and co-founded The Lost Waters with a friend. For a significant amount of time during my high school years I spent my time administrating and moderating TLW, there I found friends; found love; grew as a person; strengthened my desire for gaming and eventually parted ways with the forum for numerous reasons. Fast-forward to a year or so back and browsing one day I stumbled upon the (once again) reworked TLW forums where I decided to rejoin some old friends and make some new ones. And now I continue to moderate TLW today, as inactive as it may be, cleaning up the occasional spambots and keeping things under eye.

So yeah... That's a brief history of who I am, and I'd be happy to answer any further questions people may have for me. I look forward to posting here with what time I have.

Oh man, MechWarriors. There's a name I haven't heard in a long while. I think we have the... third game in the series? It was intensely frustrating, from what I remember.

That sounds really interesting, though. It's cool that video games have guided your life so much, and that you're pursuing a career in gaming. =) And yeah, webforums can be pretty amazing places. *huggles Temple*

I don't think we've met before (my fault), so nice to meet you~! =) What are your favourite games?

Favourite games? Hmm, that's always a tough one to answer... Well considering the thousands of hours I've put into it, Morrowind would be pretty high on that list. Still play and mod it to this day. Same goes for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. Deus Ex, of course. System Shock 2, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines... Dark Souls... Err... Yeah, I have a lot.

I fare well, thankyou Ulta. Tired though, unfortunately. I forgot to mention it, but I also run a small Australian gaming community with our own forums, website, TeamSpeak server, game servers etc. So paying for and managing all that can be quite the hassle at times.

>Dark Souls

FRIENDS FOREVER

We have a Dark Souls chat on FB and a few Dark Souls topics in the games forum, so feel free to stop by! A few of us are RPing Dark Souls characters in the next Rumble, too. Which did you like more, 1 or 2? Or are they even for you?

Dark Souls is great. Deus Ex was fun too, though I much preferred the smoother gameplay in Human Revolution.

While I can appreciate the mechanical changes and design decisions implemented into Dark Souls 2, I feel a lot of the creative elements such as map design and traversal didn't make the trip so well from Dark Souls 1. From a strictly objective standpoint I find DS1 more appealing. Mechanically it was more well-rounded towards the attentive and slow, methodical type of gamers (just as DeS was before it), whereas DS2 had slightly more leeway in that regard. It was still punishing certainly, but not exactly in the same way DS1 was. Subjectively speaking though, I do enjoy DS2 more for the slightly more varied locations and lore you're able to absorb, including the 3 DLC areas.

As for Human Revolution, I feel it's certainly a worthy successor to the series but I'd disagree on a lot of it's gameplay decisions. For one, the boss fights were atrociously designed (and apologized for as such), and the focus on most stealth/gunplay action centering around the cover mechanics made me feel like 3/4 of that game I had my spine pressed against a surface of some kind. On the other hand though, the roleplay elements were lifted superbly (apart from the "choose a button" ending which is just dumb) and I would like to see more focus on that going forward, with some revised gunplay if at all possible.

Get out of here, STALKER.

I mean

Hi. You're already meeting the Dark Souls swarm. There are a few other games that will have people crawling out of the woodwork too. There's also RPing that may trigger that, as you might have inferred.

Also, remember. You're here now.

Here forever.

I figured there would be some semblance of RP scene here, yeah. In fact before I started my major RPs and battle scenarios back in TLW, most posts of that nature were generally 1-2 sentences long and that was it. Though I can understand if they wanted to keep it brief, but I always felt RP should have a little more... soul to it I guess. So if there's more intricate RPing here then I may certainly join in.

Some people here write RP posts so long you'll want to vomit reading them.
