FFXIII's soundtrack was pretty glorious... I forget the song I absolutely loved, 'saber's edge' or 'hanging edge', one of the two.

Metal, that's pretty cool. Sorry for my ignorance that would have to do with computers or is it something else? Congrats btw!! That sounds like it can get pretty frustrating having to have everything perfect. What kind of video game music you like to play? Final fantasy XIII-2 has some pretty good songs but some say ffxiii soundtrack is better.
Yeah, it deals with some programming and such, mostly circuit theory, prototyping and troubleshooting though. It's pretty much a smaller(2 year course), less in-depth version of Electronic Engineering with a lot of focus on "hands on" skills. Thanks.

I mainly play Touhou and stuff from RPGs like Final Fantasy, Ys, and Chrono Trigger. I don't really learn too much video game music, just some of the songs I really happen to like such as learning Rose of May from FF9 on piano and Dreaming from Ys 1 on violin.

Speaking of... Legato, my friend... have you ever heard of something called Touhou? :awsm:

Just a note on forum mechanics, Legato!
If you just copy and paste a youtube link, it'll automatically convert into a hyperlink.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsG80RGxzNM&feature=youtu.be
Like that!
You can also format a hyperlink like this:
[url =https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsG80RGxzNM&feature=youtu.be]And then describe it with the text you want here[/ url]

And remove the spaces from the bbcode, of course. =)
You can also embed a youtube video by going [youtube ]<insert url here>[/ youtube] (but it lags the page for some people if done too often), or just the sound by going [yt-sound ]<insert url here>[/ yt-sound] (buuuut it autoloads in 240p).

Personally, I prefer just hyperlinks, but those are some options for you. =)

@satty is that cool if I call you that? My good sir I have not heard of that, what would that be exactly? Thanks for the heads up, I was wondering about that. You know this is the first time I noticed your signature, are those all your favorite characters?

@sanae that sounds pretty complicated. Also what touhou games, I'm kinda unfamiliar with that genre? aw nice you play ys! There's a really good soundtrack on the psp version of ys I think its called mountain breaker or something. I remember it has a couple of great songs on it.

Yeah, Satty's fine! And well, not necessarily my favourite characters, but all characters I like a lot. I'm pretty choosy with my avatars, so I like to log ones I've used in the past. The "Templesona" is something an old member named Signomi drew for me, which is my version of "Templeverse" (based on Temple RPs) Saturos, as Leader of Sol Clan.

That's what Touhou looks like. Basically it's a danmaku or bullet hell game that draws heavily on Japanese folklore for its aesthetic, lore, and music. There's still some western stuff mixed in like vampires, mermaids, and werewolves (the latter two only recently), but yeah. It's all made by one guy, ZUN, who does the art (not very well), the programming, the writing (well, though your mileage may vary), and the music (very well).
There are 14 mainseries games in total, about 30 mins long each. 6-14 are the ones most people know, since they were made for Windows instead of an old PC-98 system. Each one features a mostly new cast of characters, with the odd recurring one. Apart from the protagonists, who are always at least a shrine maiden named Reimu Hakurei, and a "western witch" named Marisa Kirisame.

It also gets endless fanworks, so fanfics, fan music arranges of the game's music (literally thousands of cds), fanart ranging from chibi to epic (and lewd, I guess), fangames, you name it.
This video, "Bad Apple!", is many people's first exposure to Touhou. It's a remix of an older song, but video, music, and lyrics are all fanmade. It's a montage of Touhou characters from games 6-10, with a cameo by a PC-98 character.
Sometimes the animation for fan videos is amazing.

But yeah, if there's a genre you can name, odds are there's Touhou remixes in that style. I'll just link a
few
songs. Jazz, metal, classical, and folk. My main genres. =3

This one's my personal favourite.
Also Touhou envisioned in a 3D fanvideo.

I'm sure some other people can chime in with stuff I missed. Oh yeah, I guess almost all the characters are girls, but gender surprisingly isn't really a factor in the canon works.

@mr.heart cool name btw! Hack.Sign has to be one of them, pretty good story and the ending was good. Rurouni kenshin, Full Metal Alchemist, Bleach, Claymore and cashern sins. Mostly anything I see that interests me. Video games would be resonance of fate, tales of vesperia, blazblue, Pokemon, final fantasy and kingdom hearts. What about you?

@satty ok cool, just wanted to check with you first. Right that's pretty smart, that templesona picture is really well done. If you don't mind me asking why those characters? Just curious. I've definentley seen that before, didn't know what it was called. Those games look extremely difficult, and the videos you posted very beautiful songs. It's crazy that's fanmade and I'm not sure if you seen these videos [Touhou 3D] Reimu vs Remilia: http://youtu.be/LSAq1AT7g9Q

Excellent!
Resonance of Fate, .HACK//, Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts are good places for us to get along. Tell me, how interested are you in other JRPG series and the Metal Gear series?

It's better than I expected.
It's not a disgrace to its predecessor like ToS2 was.
It's got a few new annoying gimmicks, but nearly as many new good ones.
So far, I'm enjoying the new plot and characters well enough.

So, thus far, I'm gonna say it's a good RPG in general.
For a Tales game, it's decent. Not amazing, but decent.
That could change upon completion of the game though.

The most notable annoying gimmick is the debt system. Someone at Bamco thought it would be a good idea to make the main character go 20 million gald into debt over something arbitrary and stupid. As a result, I gotta shell out the majority of my gald earnings constantly. And what's worse, if you accumulate too much gald on your own, the game constantly nags you on every screen transition that it's "time to pay up". Whoever thought that would be a good idea for a video game ought'a be shot.

On the other hand, they added the ability to physically dash through fields and towns (with limited turning capacity). And that's pretty cool. Another fun little thing they added is "kitty dispatch". Basically, you collect cats from all throughout the world, and you can send them out into the world to collect materials for you.

As for ToS2... I've had a few lengthy rants about it over on GFAQS, but to sum things up: It looked cheap, it felt cheap, the quests were absurdly repetitive, the "world map" was a joke, it had almost none of the staple extra side-quests that come with any other modern Tales game, the pokemon gimmick had no place existing in a sequel to a game that didn't have it, the game had no capability to stand on its own apart from its original, AND ABOVE ALL: It treated the original characters like complete and utter crap in nearly every aspect.
As far as I'm concerned, the whole thing was just a bad fan-fic that never happened.
