Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

I would be okay with that, especially if he had his Warlock Punch as his only move.

Unfortunately, sakurai did not fix what was actually wrong with ganon in the transition from brawl to smash 4. He just made everything bigger and beefier, which isn't going to help him with staying safe. Should've given him his melee jab back, and at least reduce the landlag on his fair enough to be safe on shield >_>

The low tier falco is a bit of a surprise, though.

Falco being so low is mostly due to how the data was collected. Falco is one of the least played characters, so his results are heavily skewed. Same with characters like Olimar and the Miis.

Thanks Poui.

I think the miis are actually pretty fun to play and after the tiers settle into a more stable pattern, I'm interested in seeing where they wind up.

Well, tournaments currently don't allow custom moves, so Miis are stuck using 1-1-1-1.

Gunner and Swordsman's default specials are pretty bad.

A lot of tournaments would probably allow them if it weren't a logistical nightmare to unlock all the custom moves on all of their consoles.

That's pretty much the only reason why they aren't allowed. Most players and TOs like the idea behind them, as there don't seem to be any super OP combos and they help some characters be much more viable, but Sakurai had the bright idea to make it impossible to unlock all of them efficiently.

"It gives replay value!"

...is one of the dumbest yet also likeliest reasons they gave for it, when the whole draw of the game is supposed to be its multiplayer.

Sound the horn and call the cry: "How many of them can we make die?"

My friend group has found that Mii Swordsman is generally more effective than Mii Gunner.

Since this is the first Smash game I've had more-or-less unrestricted access to, I've actually been able to practice with this one instead of picking characters as though every match was a competition, and I've found I'm pretty good with Samus and ZSS. The only character I have yet to unlock whom I'm interested in using is Duck Hunt, are all the characters unlocked by playing enough matches? Or do some of them have more arcane unlock conditions like the alternate moves?

Nah, just keep playing matches and you will unlock him eventually.

Clawford
has no style

You unlock them in increments of 10 until you get 120 done. The order that IGN has is Ness, Falco, Wario, Lucina, Dark Pit, Dr Mario, ROB, Ganondork, Game&Watch, Bowser Jr, Duck Hunt then Jigglypuff. I remember that I got Ganondorf last and Jiggly close fourth or fifth, which was right about when I got Lucina iirc.

Which version you have again? Since Wii U version has fewer to unlock the last two characters each need an additional 10 more matches to unlock if you have that version. Also Cruel Smash unlocks Duck Hunt character and stage for Wii U version.

Nice to see another (interested) Duck Hunt user. I use the Dalmatian skin. I guess I like animals with spots.

I mostly want to use Duck Hunt because everyone hates fighting against him. :3

I have the 3DS version. Found it used with Ness and Falco already unlocked, and I just got Bowser Jr., so it sounds like I'll get him any day now. Still have no idea what this Cruel Smash I keep hearing reference to is, though--I can't find anything by that name in the various menus.

Cruel Smash is a requirement for getting Duck Hunt's stage in Wii U only. You're good with using the method of putting matches in one stock and suiciding over and over again until you get the amount of matches needed for unlocking the character.

And I like the Duck Hunt characters. Even got the Virtual Console release of it the day it was out in NA. I like seeing good users of them. I only find people who do not mix up the specials with the regular attacks in For Glory. Hopefully we will have good mirror matches.

To get to Cruel Smash: Games & More > Solo > Stadium > Multi Man Smash > Cruel Smash

I'm not very fond of Toon Link. Every single one of them projectile spams and dodge rolls in a way I can predict, but not quite figure out how to exploit. I can Rosalina them well enough with her gravity well, but that's just... tedious.

Rosalina vs Ness is the most hilarious broken matchup ever. Down-B spam is easiest gimp.

Nearly all my teammates in For Glory mode keep falling for PK Thunder 2 over and over again. They also fall for Charizard's Flare Blitz over and over again even though a simple jump out of the way is all is needed to make Charizard fly off the stage. I make it a point to use Charizard to show there is more to the character than Flare Blitz.
