Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Post doggie impressions please.
-Dash speed is middle of the road
-Its tilts and aerials involve the duck attacking rather than the dog. Forward and back aerials have nice range
-It has a lot of projectiles. Neutral B kicks a can forward, and every press of B while it's onscreen will send it upwards. You can rapidly tap B to send it very high or stagger presses to keep it closer to the ground, so it has a great deal of strategic potential. Will be a good spacing move.
-Down B summons a wild gunman, which has a delayed effect. The gunman stands for a second or two, before firing an extremely quick bullet. Low damage and knockback, and you can only have one gunman onscreen at a time.
-Side B throws a frisbee. This is a bit more straightforward than the other two projectiles, Duck Hunt just throws it straight forward. Press B again once it's onscreen to shoot it multiple times, blasting it to pieces and dealing quite a bit of damage to an opponent caught up in the blasts.
-Up B has the duck fly upwards, carrying the dog with it. Recovery is very good between its solid midair jump and great Up B, but it can be dangerous as the dog's descent is slow when the duck lets go.
-Smash attacks have kinda awkward hitboxes as they're separate gunshots, and forward smash is the best KO move Duck Hunt has. It lacks KO power outside of its smash attacks, but its forward smash and up smash are pretty good KO moves.
-It's heavier than you'd think; I consistently see Duck Hunt surviving to pretty high percentages. Between its surprisingly high weight and great recovery, it can be a difficult fighter to get rid of.

All in all, I think Duck Hunt will be extremely effective and aggravating to fight in the hands of a skilled player. Its playstyle doesn't really suit me all that much personally, but I can see it being well worth the effort for people who put in the time to master its skills. It has a lot of projectile options so it has a lot of ways to impede its opponent's approach, and has plenty of firepower (quite literally!) in its smash attacks.

Raven, this news is amazing and so are you. I can't wait to unlock DHD and learn how to play with him. At first I only saw his inclusion as a way to get revenge for him laughing at gamers, joking of course but I loved how everyone else was thinking the same thing and then I noticed he's similar to Banjo and Kazooie and his antics + great character has endeared him to me.

Wheey! I've became a human being!! I am very handsam!

I'm guessing that's a clay pigeon the dog throws rather than a frisbee, in reference to the Clay Shooting mode in Duck Hunt:

though have a very long cooldown if you whiff.
what's the situation when they get blocked

like do they have frame advantage (assuming blockstun in smash works like regular fighters because i can't remember if it does) or at least a more acceptable cooldown

Shieldstun in smash is based on the damage the move deals. A 3 damage jab will barely have any shieldstun, but a 17 damage smash is going to have quite a bit. With the exception of moves like falcon's sideB (which essentially turn into a different move when a foe is nearby), there is never any difference in the endlag of a whiffed move and a move on block. Spacing and not-too-negative frame advantage are what keep people safe after hitting a shield in smash (or if you're melee fox/falco, you have a jump cancel you can do on your shine regardless of whether you hit, whiff, or hit their block).

The different gravity or whatever in Brawl did not favor Captain Falcon at all, and his moves had such terrible priority a Falcon Punch could be cancelled out by an A jab. I've seen Mario's fireball cancel it out before >__>

Good to see that he's probably been fixed and that King Bowser reigns supreme.

Well, falcon punch isn't exactly the metric for whether falcon is good in any given smash game. It was mainly the lack of combos that hurt him so bad in the transition. He was forced to play hit and run without any real disjointed hitboxes and poor approach options that didn't reward him enough for the effort he had to put into them. As long as he can combo again in smash 4, he'll be fine. If he can't... even if he does have more kill potential, he still won't be that great.

is there any difference between pit and dark pit besides the recolour?

Their move properties are different. It's subtle, but like melee doc/mario or fox/falco, etc, there are differences in the specific knockback/angle/damage of the moves (for instance, in melee, doc's bair sent at a lower angle but was weaker, making it well-suited for gimping foes offstage, while mario's hit a bit harder but also sent them higher, so it would be easier for them to recover from). They might end up still playing similarly, though, like melee doc/mario did.

I know that, but like all of his moves had priority that bad.

Fem Robin is Michelle Ruff in the english version. I don't know if there will be a Japanese VA option but there was in Melee so maybe it will.

You know, the positive response at DHD in comparison to R.O.B during the Brawl days surprises me.

I suppose because people are too busy fuming at Dark Pit. (“・ω・)つ

Probably because Duck Hunt is not as obscure as ROB so not as much of a WTF character as ROB. I think Doggie will still be as accepted even without the clones.

DHD isn't hated unlike ROB because DHD has all the NEStolgia fanboys and fangirls foaming over it.
