Aerial Smashes...as in charge smashes in the air and such? O_o
Nah, you can't charge them; essentially they're souped up aerials with the same input as smash attacks. They're a bit weaker than ground smashes, but still powerful.

Anyway, Palutena:

-Her recovery is more or less identical to Zelda and Sheik's, but with less startup
-Auto-Reticle will not work if your opponent isn't within a certain distance, and the shots are committed to a single path determined by you opponent's location at the time of firing. Will probably be a nice spacing move
-Counter is, well, Counter.
-The reflect wall stays out for about 2 seconds and pushes back opponents it touches. Does not do damage if it doesn't reflect something
-Her forward smash and down smash do not have hitboxes across the entirety of her wings. They will just push back opponents slightly with no damage if they aren't close enough. However, they are powerful.
-Her up smash is quite strong and has a very large vertical hitbox. However, its horizontal hitbox is kinda thin. Think Pikachu's Thunder in smash attack form. This will definitely be a key move for Palutena.
-Her aerials are pretty solid, though her uair is hard to use due to a small hitbox
-Tilts are also solid
-She kinda lacks KO power outside of her smashes, but her smashes are pretty solid KO moves
-She's actually fairly fast. Her dash attack is a simple shield bash with decent knockback but short range.

Overall, Palutena is a solid character with quite a number of options. I don't know if she'll really end up being the A+++ god-tier character some people are making her out to be, but she is good and fun to play. I will say more once I've had some more time with her, as this is mostly from testing in Training Mode.

Bowser Jr.

-All 7 Koopalings are here of course, and have their own unique name displays and announcements and even their own voice clips
-The Koopa Klown Kar is very expressive, it face changes for practically everything you do
-Dash speed is slow
-Forward and up tils are... forks. As in dinner forks. No joke. Damage is nice, though the knockback is poor
-Smashes are great; forward smash is a vicious drilling attack that does multiple weak hits then a very strong finisher. Down smash has VERY long ending lag but is strong. Up smash cuts up enemies with the rotor blades on the bottom of the Koopa Klown Kar and is quite fast.
-Dash attacks slices up the enemy with a circular sawblade, it looks vicious. Good damage, meh knockback
-Nautral B fires a cannonball. Slow startup and slow travelling, but strong. You can only have one cannonball onscreen at a time
-Down B summons one of those Mecha Koopas from the Bowser fight in SMW. You can only have one out at a time, and it will explode after a short time.
-Sjd B is hilarious; the Koopa Klown Kar sprouts wheels and an engine and starts driving around. Essentially, it's a Mario Kart move. It's VERY fast. However, if you try to go in the opposite direction, you'll spin out! Can be cancelled more safely by jumping.
-Up B shoots your Koopa out of the Kar upwards. However, this does not leave them helpless! In fact, as you Koopa is descending, they actually have a unique hammer aerial attack until they hit the ground and get back into a Kar!

All in all, a quirky and unique character. Again, haven't had a whole lot of time with the Koopas, so if there's anything more to say I'll say it once I've spent some more time with them.

Not to mention that the Kar explodes when it hits the ground or an opponent in that Up B, I can see people using it to edge guard and bomb people out of making recoveries.

I feel like fighting Link must be a nightmare as Mega Man; the shield blocks a fair few of his moves.

Think Villager and Mario are my favourites so far.
Having played the Japanese version, I have to agree. Granted, I HATE using Megaman, but imo Link deff. has an advantage over him. (Or else I just REALLY suck with Megaman)

-Dash speed is middle of the road
-Its tilts and aerials involve the duck attacking rather than the dog. Forward and back aerials have nice range
-It has a lot of projectiles. Neutral B kicks a can forward, and every press of B while it's onscreen will send it upwards. You can rapidly tap B to send it very high or stagger presses to keep it closer to the ground, so it has a great deal of strategic potential. Will be a good spacing move.
-Down B summons a wild gunman, which has a delayed effect. The gunman stands for a second or two, before firing an extremely quick bullet. Low damage and knockback, and you can only have one gunman onscreen at a time.
-Side B throws a frisbee. This is a bit more straightforward than the other two projectiles, Duck Hunt just throws it straight forward. Press B again once it's onscreen to shoot it multiple times, blasting it to pieces and dealing quite a bit of damage to an opponent caught up in the blasts.
-Up B has the duck fly upwards, carrying the dog with it. Recovery is very good between its solid midair jump and great Up B, but it can be dangerous as the dog's descent is slow when the duck lets go.
-Smash attacks have kinda awkward hitboxes as they're separate gunshots, and forward smash is the best KO move Duck Hunt has. It lacks KO power outside of its smash attacks, but its forward smash and up smash are pretty good KO moves.
-It's heavier than you'd think; I consistently see Duck Hunt surviving to pretty high percentages. Between its surprisingly high weight and great recovery, it can be a difficult fighter to get rid of.

All in all, I think Duck Hunt will be extremely effective and aggravating to fight in the hands of a skilled player. Its playstyle doesn't really suit me all that much personally, but I can see it being well worth the effort for people who put in the time to master its skills. It has a lot of projectile options so it has a lot of ways to impede its opponent's approach, and has plenty of firepower (quite literally!) in its smash attacks.

He got completely redone and pulled away from just being lolslowtank. He's using his more modern and slightly more humanoid design, and is generally more flexible overall.

To be honest, it's been so long since I last played as Captain Falcon I can't remember how he was in past games, so I'll just say what he's like in this without comparing to past games

-He's VERY fast and nimble, both on land and in the air.
-He's very powerful. His attacks do a ton of damage with incredible knockback.
-The guy who said his Up B only goes upwards was lying; it's subtle, but there is a slight angle to it. You can move forward by quite a lot more by tilting forward on the circle pad. It also still has the thing where if it connects with an opponent, he'll grab onto them and then launch them away, which has incredible damage and knockback for an up B.
-His side B is very fast and has quite a bit of KO power; it KO'd Ness at around 110%.
-His down B is, again, very fast and keeps going down until he hits the ground, even going right through the enemy after he launches them.
-His Knee of Justice is fairly easy to sweetspot and does jaw-dropping damage, but it is true that the landing lag is long. Sweetspotted, this thing can KO Ness to the opposite side of the screen under 100%...
-Aerials are in general very powerful, though dair has a bit of startup lag.
-Smash attacks are incredibly powerful, and pretty fast as well.

Overall, between his awesome speed and incredible power, I have trouble seeing him end up in low tier. I don't know what it was that nerfed him so badly in Brawl, but he feels very agile and powerful in this, that's all I can say. Having no projectile could hurt him, but he's a hand-to-hand fighter anyway so it's not like he'd want one anyway!

And Bowser is much faster, has super armor on a ton of attacks and Bowser Bomb instantly breaks shields. His new fsmash also has an incredibly large hitbox and propels him forwards. His fire breath also has insane range and his recovery was buffed. This time, Bowser is truly a scary opponent.

The different gravity or whatever in Brawl did not favor Captain Falcon at all, and his moves had such terrible priority a Falcon Punch could be cancelled out by an A jab. I've seen Mario's fireball cancel it out before >__>

Good to see that he's probably been fixed and that King Bowser reigns supreme.

The trick is to auto cancel those knees by doing them as close to the ground as possible, you can obliterate teams and even Level 9 AI in seconds if you can master it.

So earlier I was doing one on one fights. Unfortunately it was somewhat laggy, so both players' skill might not be 100% represented, so keep that in mind.

First I fought a guy using a Greninja and lost by a hair's breadth. I'll put it this way, the one-on-one matches have a 5 minute counter. It was at 5 seconds when I finally got KO'd for the second time (2 stocks). It was pretty much a dodge war, and a lot of the battle saw neither of us taking damage. I got the first KO but I ended up losing in the end, when he had over 100% :( I was using Dark Pit in this battle.

Then he left, and a Zelda user came in. I was still using Dark Pit. And... well, I have to admit, I lost pretty badly about 5 times in a row. After my long streak of losses I switched to Mr. Game & Watch and started doing considerably better. After 2 more tries I finally beat his Zelda. Then he switched to Zero Suit Samus. I thought for sure I was doomed. But somehow I actually managed to scrape a win, with me on around 80% on my last stock by the end. I am trying my best to get better at shielding and dodging, and that person was a highly aggressive player so I learned a lot. I learned how to deal with Zelda as dealing with predominantly ranged fighters has always been a challenge for me. And I somehow managed to scrape a win on ZSS, who is incredible in this game. It was a damn tough fight and could easily have gone to them, so I'd best count my blessings.

I am getting better bit by bit, though! Mr. Game & Watch seems to be my strongest character overall right now. I need some more time with Dark Pit. Robin, too. I'm very bad at playing Robin right now, I need a lot of practice with him.

Dark Pit's final smash is basically the same as Zelda and Sheik's one.

Other than that I'm not sure on differences. As far as clones go, Dr Mario is definitely the worst offender.

Dark Pit's Side B has an electrical effect. And I think his Neutral B projectiles are slower? Apart from that, they're pretty much the same.

Dark Pit is a little slower but a little stronger, and has a different FS

Aside from cosmetic differences e.g. he uses the Silver Bow rather than Palutena Bow, and the Electro Arm rather than Upperdash Arm, he's very, very similar. It's also worth noting that while Dark Pit's arrows do more damage, they also can't be redirected at anywhere near as steep an angle as Pit's can.

While I'm at it, I'd like to sing the praises of the Arms. They're amazing KO moves, though have a very long cooldown if you whiff. Actually, they're very similar to Captain Falcon's side B. It's also worth noting that Pit's Upperdash Arm launches at a 90 degree angle while Dark Pit's Electro Arm launches at a 45 degree angle, which can make it easier or harder to KO with Dark Pit's depending on your position on the stage and direction. It takes a bit more strategy to use effectively than Pit's.

what's the situation when they get blocked

like do they have frame advantage (assuming blockstun in smash works like regular fighters because i can't remember if it does) or at least a more acceptable cooldown

They don't break through shields or anything, and their cooldown isn't shortened any if it's blocked. You'll be left wide open for a counterattack, so it must be used wisely
