Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

But ryu, we do have auto-double post merging now. That's what this topic was all about.
See?

The main reason we don't do auto-double post merging is mostly due to the number of temple projects and RPs that we do, as well as the "I posted in my blog" topic.

Double post merging also ruins spam contests in PG.
As I understand it, posts will only merge if they've been made within an hour of each other, so the way it's enforced shouldn't be a problem for temple projects, RPs, and the 'I posted in my blog' topic.

However, it's true that double post merging in this setting would put a damper on spam contests. I can see two solutions. One, post merging is completely disabled and staff buckle down and consistently moderate double posting. Two, post merging gets turned off temporarily during spam contests, which only last a few days at most.

The second seems like the least work intensive for the staff.

Ooooorrr...We could just leave it as it is now as it's worked fine for ages and it;s not doing any harm.

post merging is terrible and anyone who is involved in the implementation or support of this heinous act is a bad person.

I'm a bad person, therefore I support post merging even though it's not something I really care about. Because apparently that's what bad people do.

Or you can just wait for someone to post in between your posts, which is how spam contests should work anyway, IMO

Yeah, we'd just use option 2 there, Jenna. One click of a button. And we wouldn't need to moderate double posting if it were just impossible anyway.
