So, they kind of hinted at it visually, but during the bullet-dodging game, one of the distinct advantages Kirito used was that he actually watched the NPC's eyes as an indicator of where he was going to shoot next, rather than the gun/prediction lines that everyone was so accustom to using. I don't know why they didn't try to make that more obvious, or have him mention it. iirc, the LN may have only had him acknowledge that fact in his thoughts, so I guess that might be why they didn't have him outright say it. dat square attack. XD

I'd be pretty pissed either way.

It's unclear whether avatars are selected at random for players or that Kirito was just given a good one by the government (unlikely), but so far it's been used as sort of a "haha women are treated differently in games look at how accurate we are" gimmick. Who knows? Maybe they'll actually do something with his appearance besides trapbait. Oh, it's also for certain that Kirito has not actually been genderbent. It's just really long hair and an effeminate body type. Androgynous is a better term.
