I can't tell if that's directed at me, the episode, or any of the number of posts in between. |

those girls are real girls who bought the game, paid for the game, and spend free time from their real lives laying in a digital lap. |

To be fair, in SAO world, you have to register under your own gender for... reasons. So at the least we know that those are actually women. |

To be fair (oh god am I actually defending SAO), the 'own gender' thing was only after people got locked into SAO. They got turned into accurate representations of their IRL selves (girl characters were suddenly old dudes, etc). I don't think the elf game's got the gender restrictions in place. |

Well, I think it's not necessarily "locked," but that they're strongly advised to pick a character of their own gender, due to the way the brainwave systems work. From the way I understood it, it tricks the brain into doing something similar to HRT if you pick a character of the opposite gender, which could lead to discomfort and messed up hormones if exposed to that environment for long periods of time. |

If I jumped into a new reality, and a particular part of me was no longer present... chaos would ensue. |

Congrats, you have now witnessed the second worst scene in sao. Keep going simple! edit:
Actually, this scene makes perfect sense when you remember that for the past two years, SAO was their reality. And then they weren't able to talk at all since SAO ended. It's only natural he would talk about their times in SAO as if it actually happened, because to kirito, it did. |

I think what bothered me about that line was that Kirito only used her in-game stats to describe her to a little sister who, to his knowledge, knows very little about games in general. I suppose that it reflects how much he values virtual status over real life status, given he's so far behind on real life thanks to SAO, but the execution made me chuckle a bit. |

Yeah, I'll admit it strange that he didn't mention anything about her being kind or understanding or anything like that, or that she was able to dissect the cooking algorithms to make stuff in sao that tastes like it was made back home. You know, all that [rainbow]perfect waifu[/rainbow] stuff. The description he gave to sugu was comparable to saying "Oh, my girlfriend works as an architect and has designed some of the most beautiful buildings around." He told sugu what she's done, not what she's like. |
