They got turned into accurate representations of their IRL selves (girl characters were suddenly old dudes, etc). I don't think the elf game's got the gender restrictions in place.

From the way I understood it, it tricks the brain into doing something similar to HRT if you pick a character of the opposite gender, which could lead to discomfort and messed up hormones if exposed to that environment for long periods of time.

LOOKS LIKE KIRITO AND SUGUFA ARE GOING TO DICK AROUND IN REAL LIFE THIS EPISODE. - MEANWHILE ON THE INTERNET, Asuna looking real goofy trying to stealth her way around the World Tree. Maybe if she had some of that Lame Spriggan Magic she would look less goofy, but nah, Kirito is the only Spriggan that matters in this game. - Does this touch panel admit just any old handprint? If that's so, why is there a touch panel in the first place? Can't the door just open automatically if that were the case? - This is, admittedly, an effective shot signifying that Kirito is back in the real world. Perhaps a callback to how dreary and empty it was when Kirito first entered SAO? Pretty sure this show isn't capable of such imagery given what I've seen of this anime, but it's nice to dream about it. - Kirito chastises Sugufa for staying up as late as he did and being on the internet. Though Kirito recognizes that he's being a hypocrite (for once), it has no impact on the story and goal at hand. So it comes off as a superfluous flaw. Also, I don't find much issue with either sibling being reserved about what they did with their extended night, nor do I object their lack of inquisition. I have an older brother whom I did not have to share a room by the fourth grade. There were a lot of things we did on our own private time and the both of us never felt the need to talk about our private interests to one another. It's typical introverted sibling behavior. - MEANWHILE ON THE INTERNET, Asuna is busy being all sneaky-sneaky in a brighty-lit and cover-less tunnel. I get being cautious and all, but if there truly were people around where could she possibly hide? - What a convenient map. Also, I'm to infer from this line that Asuna is indeed alive, even though she died in SAO, and that she's just being blocked from logging out because Sugou is just that evil. - Kirito mentions having to go to the hospital to visit Asuna, prompting Sugufa to tear her conveniently heart-shaped leaf of lettuce in half. GET IT? LEAF? HEART? BROKEN IN HALF? THIS SHOW IS SO DEEP, GUYS. - MEANWHILE ON THE INTERNET, Asuna finds out the terrible truth about ALO... [rainbow]It was the Sybil System all along!!1!!!11![/rainbow] In all seriousness, Sugou intercepted a lot of brains left over from SAO and is using the Nerve Gear technology to perform unethical experiments on them; namely, mind[radio edit]ing them into submission. He's the NTR hero we deserve, folks. He will make our dreams come true. - The brains, they are suffering! They are suffering because Asuna said so! - Oh boy, here's the fun part: some scientists barge in and their in-game avatars are gigantic, tentacle-wielding purple slugs. And Asuna's trying her best not to get caught by them! We're doin' it, SAO. We're finally doin' it. - Sugu in warm clothing comes very close to beating out Lisbeth: Literally Best Girl in the "SAO Best Girl" rankings. - Ain't no Sugu like a fully clothed Sugu. - Kirito comments on how he and other people previously trapped in SAO are basically shuttled into a different school system because of the implications of being in a death game for two years. A fascinating piece of information when it comes to figuring out Kirito's future as a Lv. 9001 Black Swordsman, but ultimately irrelevant in the scope of of the story at hand. It's a shame, really. - MEANWHILE ON THE INTERNET, the tentacle monsters haven't noticed Asuna yet. Therefore, Asuna will eventually be noticed by her tentacle monster sempais. Uguu~ - Welp, she found the logout terminal! Surely she'll be able to logout and meet her e-husbando and e-daughteru in time for their hospital visit and everyone would live happily ever after! I'm just [radio edit]ing with you guys. Of course tentacle monster-sempai notices her at the last minute. ARE YOU GUYS READY FOR THE MOMENT WE'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR - BECAUSE [radio edit] YOU LET'S CUT BACK TO KIRITO AND SUGU AT THE HOSPITAL. - Sugu comments that most people usually don't use their real name on the internet (talking about Asuna in this case), to which Kirito replies "Wow, you know your stuff." - And then Kirito starts to describe Asuna using her in-game statistics like she's hot shit or something. SURELY after all these months he would know even the most cursory of details pertaining to Asuna, but nooooooo, that's not as important as measuring her e-peen. - MEANWHILE ON [rainbow]THE INTERNET[/rainbow] - Ah, yes. Mmmmm. - This is exactly what we came for. Oh god, yesssssssss. - ugggghhghh huhwhat was that? True Name: simplechild	I think what bothered me about that line was that Kirito only used her in-game stats to describe her to a little sister who, to his knowledge, knows very little about games in general. I suppose that it reflects how much he values virtual status over real life status, given he's so far behind on real life thanks to SAO, but the execution made me chuckle a bit.

You know, all that [rainbow]perfect waifu[/rainbow] stuff. The description he gave to sugu was comparable to saying "Oh, my girlfriend works as an architect and has designed some of the most beautiful buildings around." He told sugu what she's done, not what she's like.
