Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

If you aren't going to count joke nominations seriously, then don't include them on the ballet. Joke votes are a temple tradition, and if we want a joke nomination to win (like one could argue satty/silvy was, or ryu winning best graphic artist), then so be it. But, if a joke nomination legitimately wins the category, don't throw it out. That means a majority of the people thought it was the most appropriate winner for that category, and it also means a lot of votes not going toward other, potentially more worthy candidates than whatever the runnerup was.
There was also an issue of some people complaining that the 'joke nominations' were winning over the 'serious nominations'. But, in essence, I agree - if we're not going to count the nomination if it wins, then we probably shouldn't put it on the ballot. It's annoying to the people who voted for the discarded nomination to have ostensibly wasted their vote, and if they had known the option was going to be ignored in the final tally, might have voted for something else.

I was just joking the other day that the Board Awards results were taking so long to tally that by the time they came out, they were going to be obsolete since, in the interim, a number of nominees have left or been banned.

Sound the horn and call the cry: "How many of them can we make die?"

Welp. Sorry ryu, I didn't realize you actually did things.

Multivotes are dumb. The whole point is whoever you think the "best" is.

You know, that mentality might make sense when there are essentially only two people to choose between (*cough*american elections*cough*), but when you have too many valid choices, you kinda need to have more than one round if you want accurate results. For instance, HJ and enro would both draw upon a similar voterbase for best clansperson, unfairly disadvantaging both of them. Multivotes would remove this disparity (even if it's only best 2 or 3 you can vote for, perhaps depending on size of the poll), and if you really want people to vote for who they think is the "best," bring it down to a top two for every category afterward where people only vote one. And just because multivotes exist, doesn't mean everyone has to use them; if they only think one person is worthy of winning the award, they would only vote that one person.
That's a problem with the voters, not the system.

Or Tract just says he rigs the boards awards so we get in a tizzy and pull something like this.
That was my first thought.
Btw, I will claim to have rigged the next baord awards. Just because.

I'd be against a recount personally, just because of the hassel, as well as the fact that people might have changed their votes in the meantime-votes which should go towards the next set of board awards.

Throwing out nominations is fine; that's what the nomination round is for.

Throwing out things once they're on the poll and being voted for is dumb.

If people would recall, several members (including yours truly) protested against joke nominations for exactly this reason, and we were shot down.

I was never sure why the joke nominations were allowed in the first place. A lot of the discussion for it happened while it was bedtime in Britland, though. :c

Death comes to all of those who oppose me.

In defense of Ryu's art I went to the Chicago art Museum and saw what was literally a post painted half red and half blue and that was considered art. So I'm all for Ryu's art.

Can somebody please explain to me what exactly is the big deal about a tie, especially one that there was an attempt to break? They happen all the time in awards.

The tie is a complete non-issue, Jacob is just overreacting.
