7 people voted for hating fun so far. ![]() Also, how long ago was it? 5 years? There's no need to keep the joke going. I for one, would have raised ZERO argument if Were hadn't necroed it purely for shits and giggles. |

all of my necro's are incredibly relevant and usually hallmark an important event in temple history or an amusing old topic. i revived it to commemorate man week. and it was like two and a half years ago |

Speaking of which, I've noticed some double standards going on here more than once. I've yet to point them out though. |

Wow, I can't even begin to list all the things you did wrong with this post. Either list them, or don't bring it up at all. If it bothers you but you don't want to bring it up in public then tell the mods. I'm not saying there aren't double standards here, but this is -not- the way to start a discussion about them. |

Fair enough, I don't like being indirect anyway. Sorry about that. I want to list them, but it seems so trivial (and probably is) and it happened awhile ago, so I'm not sure if I should. I promise that's the only reason I haven't brought it up. |

Yeah, pretty much what Bowz said. We staff are by no means perfect (I know I'm not), so if we can discuss potential areas of "double standards," that would be great for improving the community as a whole. Or at least, help us run it better for you all. ^^; Seccy, there's a difference between a topic possibly not fitting a forum and actively trolling a particular topic, as your pony posts do. So making it your goal to "derail and destroy" pony threads is still breaking the rules. And while we've been relatively lax with conversation drift (look at Slash's L/S topic, it's gone from original post, to theaters, to sit-down restaurants), we do tend to be a bit better with making sure topics are in their relevant forums. Anyway, if it seems like the community's okay with it, with respect to this topic I'd be fine with it being back in the GS forum, even if I'm against it on principle. It would just be a matter of principle, and not something that hurts people. |

Eh...might as well. I was going to post an image of a girl that had glasses (or maybe I did post it? I can't remember). She was topless, but you literally couldn't see anything because her front was completely covered up (I'm not talking about "hand bras" or something of that nature, it was more cover than that). I wasn't allowed to post it, even though the image was perfectly safe (in my opinion at least). Fast forward to maybe a week later in the PG thread about waifu/husbando exercises, and I see Silvy post a topless anime girl that was covered up, but still way more revealing than what I wanted to post. The post was completely glossed over and allowed, yet mine was not (I'm pretty sure Satty saw it, as he posted like right after Silvy, and I think Satty was the one that told me I couldn't post that image). Also, most recently, Kupo posted a link to that Fate doujin, which is full of uncensored topless girls...and it was also allowed. What the hell? Like I said, it isn't that big of a deal and is pretty much trivial, but it's the principle of the matter that gets to me. It's not because I was told not to post that image, it's that other people have posted worse things and they're apparently fine. I know that's what the report function is for, but in both cases a mod/admin posted almost right after the posts in question, so it'd be really hard to miss them. |

As it is now, 1/3 of people want it to stay put. Is it really ok to make an exception when only 2/3s are for it? Edit: Slash-that sounds...bad. I'm completely with you on that. That's one of the things I loathe the most on any forum. |

I really don't like this mentality when it comes to polls on Temple, because what if it was the other way around? What if 2/3 were against it staying, but the 1/3 was for it? Would you argue the same thing? |

I wouldn't but only because the 2/3 would be going with the established procedure. My mentality is that for an exception to be made, popular opinion should be overwhelmingly against the standard. |

there is little to no established procedure, topics are made everywhere where they don't belong and get derailed all the time |

If it helps with your statistics counting, I didn't realize this was a serious discussion at first and voted NO I HATE FUN cause the phrasing made me laugh really I don't care /o/ And Slash, don't feel bad for contributing that. Your thoughts are valid and I think most people could see why you might feel that there was some unfairness. I'm wondering if maybe you asked for permission to post it, and the other people didn't, so it was easier to let it slide. |
