Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

Shit (first aired in 1997):
Spoiler: click to toggle
Look, not every cartoon from the 1990s on was Posted Image, Leaf. That's a really bad generalization.
Try now >_>

Also, I want to clarify I don't actually think that every children's cartoon after 1990 is shit, but a pretty large majority of them are. They've gotten dumbed down more and more, catering to the lowest common denominator. You know, like most every form of media.

Well, not that I disagree, but cherry-picking two examples to prove your point isn't a very strong way to do so. You'd want to find studies or present a wide, representative range of examples.

Well, be careful that you're not falling to the "time is best judge" fallacy: there's always been huge amounts of shit, but obviously the shit gets forgotten as time passes, and ONLY THE STRONGEST SURVIVE.*

*Theoretically -- in practice, ala the canon, you have to look at "well, who is deciding what is good and what is bad/deciding what gets passed on." Which is where criticisms of the canon come in (I still think the canon is useful, but definitely not absolute). But this is off-topic.

I wonder... could you categorize every way of enjoying something along a four, or possibly even three-domain axis? So like, emotional enjoyment (how much it aligns with what you value), intellectual enjoyment (how much it aligns with what you've been taught is good), and physical enjoyment (how difficult something is to do). Spiritual enjoyment might be a more nebulous fourth category (how much it aligns with your faith), but from a secular perspective that could be argued as a part of emotionality (I personally would keep it separate, but yeah).
So like, take the ubiquitous example of "guitar shredders" (Van Halen, Yngwie Malmsteen, Batio) -- intellectually and emotionally (to me) it might be vapid, but I can still appreciate it is as something hard to do. Whereas someone who's really good at guitar, it might not be seen as something hard to do. Transferring this to say, sports, where it's something that requires physical achievement, and franchise-long narratives of rise/fall/drama for emotional value; the intellectual component could be argued, via strategy or whatnot, but compared to what we think of as "intellectual" it might not be as esteemed. *

*The kinds of things I think of in the shower.

Implying I care enough to do that.

Unlike the guy from lemu's challenge topic, I am not nearly enthusiastic enough about this to put together a finely crafted argument that most people will probably ignore.

edit: Satty, you have very fascinating shower thoughts.

Pey are you legitimately immune to the 'So Bad It's Horrible' trope?

Well, if it's something that basically has no redeeming qualities whatsoever then of course I'm not going to like it. I might've just misinterpreted your post.

You probably did, I meant the stuff listed on the 'so bad it's horrible' page, animu included. Not the 'so bad it's good' or the 'mediocre'.

Now, ask me anything.
Is this still a thing?

I may have missed it because I really skimmed the topic, but since I've only recently watched the anime (twice, once alone once with my girlfriend) I only now felt I could actually read it without spoilers XP

Thoughts on Kyuubey? If you answered this already, and I missed it, sorry XD
