Wow, so judgmental. Did Lemu even post in this thread? Yeah Simple, I can see that being the case for people who are recommending stuff to friends but most people I know that like anime don't really flaunt how awesome "x" series is in front of people they don't know as it's kind of an "in the closet" thing(cause a lot of people hate anime).

And while some anime fans are "intense," some sports fans are also just as intense and cultish. It's just a matter of what's normalized by the society and what's not, but from a distance they're both equally creepy (and I say this as both a sports fan and an anime fan). Swimsuit calendars and "ecchi anime calenders" are both pretty weird objectively, for example.

Yeah, but it's acceptable for men to be creepily obsessed with sports and scantily clad models because it's what society expects of them. Seriously, I haven't met a single "real" weeaboo and every anime fan I've met has been pretty discrete about their interests.
