Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

It depends on the dynamic between people, of course. I had a group of friends in which we would routinely insult each other, usually along recurring joke lines, mostly to see what the other person could come up with. None of us were offended by it, and you could tell who wasn't in our group of friends - we didn't insult them.

There's probably some psychological reason behind it, but idk. I miss those guys.

Sound the horn and call the cry: "How many of them can we make die?"

Though it's debatable how much that is "endearing."
I've been part of the 4chan community; "endearing" is definitely the intent, at least most of the time. Granted, it's entirely understandable why people from outside that group would see it differently.

And it's also debatable how much any other site would want to emulate 4chan. 8DDD

Yes, fuzzy little man-peach is a filter from a certain word often used as a slur against homosexuals.
Ah ok. Yeah, sometimes people use that word to refer to cigarettes, but generally it's pretty negative slang. Like HJ, I sometimes also use it to jokingly insult family and friends, but not really otherwise.

Also, this is me taking a stab at what the Nigel Thornberry filter is...

Ian votes to remove all filtering of words. If someone is being hateful towards another community member moderators should take care of that person if someone is offended by the mere mention of a word they should suck it up.

Even if I've lost my battle I'm pleased the poll turned out the way it did.

Satty only believes in democracy when the majority agrees with him.

No, democracy/opinions are just a helpful tool in deciding what to do. And as I already said, when it comes to "right to use :nigel: casually" vs. "enduring possibly offensive language" and it's this close, I'll give the nod to people not to have to deal with that. It's easier to deal with something not existing or not being around than it is to actively cope with something there.

That being said, not going to lie, Steve, I find your general attitude and irrational disregard for all positions put forward lately, coupled with your paranoid accusations of staff targeting you specifically, pretty wearisome. Any idea when you're going to grow out of that?

It's a shame when the winning votes count for naught.

Also Satty perhaps you should look into ones claims about being unfairly targeted? Admittedly I'll plead ignorance as to actual knowledge to if he is.

First of all, it wins by one votes, which isn't a clear majority. Second, did Satty ever say that he would base the decision on a poll that he didn't even start? (No, seriously, did he? Because in that case it would be different. I can't remember.)

I believe the poll was put up for Gilgamesh to see whether it was just a very small minority who were ruining it for everyone else, in which case yeah, there might be no need for a filter. And the results showed almost an equal number of people who wanted the filter, so it wasn't just a niche thing.

We already changed the filter so Boyd wouldn't feel unfairly targeted, Ian, so in that sense we did accede to the "Yes" side.

To Draco. You only need one vote to win a senator seat. So I think even if it's just by one it's still important to consider.

To Satty if you have talked to him at least than you're trying. I'm not sure how a filter would target someone. It would seem the post was put up to see which was more popular at least in accordance with the topic title post. I don't know if Gilg is a mod or who aside from you is a mod to be honest.

I really don't think we should base any form of cooperative management on the Senate, of all things.
