Even without her relic cancer Hibiki is really stronk. I don't know why Maria would be higher, even if she's obviously stronger than Shirabe and Kirika.

dess dess dess dess dess Posts: 4,036 Group: Merc-Yuri Clan Member #543 Joined: November 14, 2009 Gender: Fuerza Del Male Blog: Dr. Hoofs's Sing-Along Blog Country: #0# True Name: HFS, Hoofs	no the whole point is that Hibiki's punches are stupid strong but they're not, you know, the crazy/useful/etc stuff that everyone else gets from their missiles/scythes/chains/sword rains like, all she has is different stronger varieties of punching really extremely hard but that's it one really good skill, but it's not like anything else is strictly necessary so it's perfectly fine tl;dr whoever thought maria was stronger needs to reexamine their brain, hibiki's like the Fighter that spent all of her points on making her punches the best while the other people have different spells and skills that can help in other situations

I can see it, we haven't really even seen Maria at full strength, nor Hibiki doing a lot of solo fighting. A lot of her strength has come from Berserker form in the past, or being a fused gear. Conversely, you can say that Maria's ability to use a bunch of techniques and variety makes her overall stronger than Hibiki, who can really only punch. idk, just rationalizing what it is, if that's "word of God" you can always death of the author that shit, though 8D if it doesn't match what's apparent in the show

If that's true than it's not really a fighting ability and could be the reason she's only mid-tier.

I guess I'm just trying to say the animation should probably show it better. It's believable otherwise now that she's not fused.

Shenshou Jing Miku's thing is pretty obvious. She doesn't know how to fight and could only follow the routines Ver programmed into her brain. Chris and Hibiki easily overwhelmed her. It's just that her laser destroys gears so it's a OHKO if she actually gets to use it.

And I like how it's still a foil to Hibiki and her dad's plotline. Also her grandfather impregnating her father's wife is [radio edit]ed up and definitely explains some things. Tsubasa's finishing move there was so gloriously over the top cheesy Also an anti-sword conceptual weapon, literally Silvy's archnemesis also dat surprise appearance at the end what a champion, Carol's "wtf" face is also priceless Edited by Saturos, Aug 29 2015, 12:33 AM.

We finally see more backstory to why Tsubasa is such a sword and her situation with her family gives support to that without going overboard on the "tragic backstory". The use of "wings" instead of "swords" for Tsubasa winning and getting over her past was a cheesy but amazing. I love how when Ver shows up, Carol is just like "who the [radio edit] are you and why are you stealing my thunder" with her facial expression.
