Yaaaay, great 1st episode. Season 4 Episode 1 spoilers As expected, the visual upgrade was really nice.
I'm so glad they're out on a journey-style adventure now, it just opens the show up for so many more possibilities and it really helps us get a better view of what the world of Remnant is really like.
The evil council scene was a good idea I guess (I always like it when the villains get plenty of screen time to flesh out their behavior and motivations), but feel like they could have been a little more subtle about it. Speaking of subtlety, I feel like the cackling crazy villain guy really could've used some; he was just a bit... too in-your-face about it for my tastes. And HOOOOOLY crap I had no idea Ruby did that much of a number on Cinder. That is crazy, and I love it. Can't wait to see how she tries to exact her revenge.
The Golem-thing(Gheist?) fight was pretty fun; definitely showcased the new team well. The Ruby/Nora attack was cool.
So, was the extra material that Jaune had forged into his equipment Pyrra's circlet I guess? Interesting idea, I'm curious to see how that'll come into play later.
It was a good call to put the usual episode intro at the end of this first episode. I liked viewing the new character aesthetics as the came up in the episode rather that thrown at me all at once in a quick intro. That said, the intro looks/sounds great. I particularly like the first few seconds with the character-colored lights shooting out of the broken Beacon tower and flying towards their respective locations of the Remnant map. It's both cool, visually, and very informative about where they are now. I love that kind of thing. The music is nice, I guess it was appropriately themed on recovery after last years huge downfall-theme. And we all know how much they tend to deliver on their themes by the end of the season (looking at you, Yang!). Other than that, I'm really looking forward to seeing Blake's new crew; they looked fun.
I have to wonder when team RWBY will finally get back together, probably not until the very end of the season, or later. I'm not in a rush for that though. All 4 of them basically now have their own story going on and I hope that each and every one of them get fleshed out exactly as much as they should before re-uniting.
Spoiler: click to toggle You hit the nail on the head for me. I loved seeing a more open-world environment as well as a new type of Grimm and Faunus we haven't seen before. Tirion was a *little* over the top, but sets his character up nicely. He seems like one of the people that "just want to watch the world burn" with no other real motivation. I'm also interested to find out what the Legion of Doom's reasons for taking over/destroying the world.

How long do I have to wait before I can watch it I believe you can watch it now if you go to the RT site; if not, then they should upload it to YouTube on Sat. when the next episode comes out.

It's still not out for free? That's weird. I was able to view it because I bought a big 3-year sponsorship package a couple years ago. yeesh, just checked; prices have changed. >_>

Yep. I was grandfather'd on the old plan, but since my card number changed, it didn't work when it was supposed to auto-renew. So, now it's a little more for it, but it's not a huge deal to me.

yeah, I generally don't like continuously paid subscriptions to things, but I like supporting roosterteeth in general, so it works out fine for me.
anyways, it looks like the RWBY available confusion isn't unique to us, they just put a release schedule & description explaining it:
Release Schedule
RWBY has a three-tier release schedule: Rooster Teeth FIRST members see the episode first (on Saturdays) One day later, everyone signed into a Rooster Teeth account (including free/non-FIRST members) can watch the episode on our site Six days after that, the general public can watch the episode on RoosterTeeth.com or YouTube

Well, they want more people on their own website rather than youtube, and this certainly pushes to accomplishes that.
Se4 Ep2 Not much happened but they definitely set the tone for where Ruby's group & Weiss are at. Ironwood looked great. I don't know why, but it felt almost surprising to see that blood on wounded huntsman, and then him suddenly dying. But it was good. I think the only thing that felt off in this episode was that as soon as they found him, they stopped looking for other survivors and assumed he was the only one. Weird. Poor Jaune. As overly-convenient as that Pyrra recording was, it was still hard to watch. Good episode, good length too. I'm still really anxious to see what's up with Blake though.

S4 Ep3 Another great episode, imo. We finally get to see Blake and Yang, and how they're dealing with the fallout of the previous season. I don't think anyone wasn't expecting Yang to get a metal arm, but it's more surprising to see it happen so early. I *loved* the sea serpent grim, and the ship crew was great. (Especially that turbo-cute first mate ) The chemistry and interaction between Sun and Blake is hilarious. "My hero!" hahaha. Also, why the fuck you lyin' Cinder? Ozpin is still alive. Interesting note that Salem has Grimm guarding/searching Beacon, presumably for Ozpin's body.

S4 Ep3 Pretty much agreed all around. I was also glad to see it's length up there in the 18min area, I had originally figured that would just be a first/last/special episode type thing. Loved the humor. Captain Ram-it-and-shoot-it was great. I loved how both Blake and Sun were able to propel themselves around with their respective clones. I've already been surprised a couple times at the clever new uses of the characters' existing abilities. I was hoping to see the other two characters from Blake's crew (from the intro), but I guess we'll just have to be patient. My only complaint is that the ships main cannon (that they definitely played up) could've looked a bit better. Seemed like a pretty regular cannon, other than its position and aiming radius.

It definitely looked lacking in comparison to it's abilities, but damn if it didn't pack a punch.

episode 3 Pretty good. I'm feelin' a lot more satisfied with season 4 on the whole, compared to seasons 1-3. The character bloat has been much reduced, the pacing seems overall better(assuming we get somewhere by the end of the season) and they're showing real, relatable consequences for actions. RWBY as a show is beginning to deliver on the promises we got four years ago when it was announced, so here's hoping it continues to improve! Also, Yang is still being best girl, even when she's a depressed wreck.

Spoiler: click to toggle They actually seem to be treating her response to that kind of injury realistically, with her struggling with both PTSD and a depressive feeling of worthlessness/uselessness at her crippled state.
(source: the Broken Goods story)
Which is awesome of them, though this kind of thing can take a long time to heal (like months) and I"m not sure this kind of story needs that.

Ep3 and prior Yeah, I'm hoping Yang and Blake's issues don't just go away when they get the resolve to fight again. I'd like to see those issues become permanent parts of their character that they struggle with and adapt to. Buuuuuuuuut I may be hoping for too much.
Definitely enjoying S4 so far. I'm of the opinion that S1-3 should probably have been condensed into a single season, honestly - maybe two at best, with S1 ending with that dance thing where Ruby and Cinder fought. It's a nice sharp tonal shift, but they dragged their feet with the pacing of those seasons to get to where the story really started: Pyrrha's death. Which, considering how invulnerable characters appeared until the end of S3, kind of felt out of place a bit.

I don't know about condensing, but I agree that the first three volumes are kind of like a collective prelude to the current volume. This one just feels like the "real" beginning of what RWBY was always meant to be, even though the previous volumes were fairly necessary to reach this point with this level of involvement. At any rate, I'm love'n it.

This past week, they only release a World of Remnant video "Between Kingdoms". They're probably either catching up with production, or maybe they just didn't want to draw people's attention away from the Extra Life event they were having (or both).
