Also, I was not expecting to take a liking to that dog... but I am. The way he moves and behaves is so overly simplistic it has an odd charm to it that I don't understand.

Season 2 finale spoilers Not bad, but not great either imo. There was so much going on and so much build up, and then... I don't know, it just kinda fizzled out. There was no real climax to all the battling going on. It just seemed like any other show-case of characters showing off their moves with no real opposition. That part of it was kinda disappointing. Of course, there was a couple distinct great parts that stood out. -Jaune's ring tone was that Ursa joke video they made last season. -Nora did her sailing hammer thing again. -Neptune's badge drop -The Professors doing some real action albiet brief And of course that after-the-credits reveal. The contents of the reveal was fairly interesting, but the reveal itself was... kinda boring as an event, pointless to do it now, and too soon with no real build up of anticipation. I feel like they could have done SO much more with it if they'd saved the reveal of her eyes for later (or at least more subtly). But it's pretty much out there in the open now. That character is almost certainly Ruby's mom. (that or sister or Ruby from the future, but mother would make the most sense due to the circumstances of their family and all the talk Yang had about their parents). I hate when I see a good thing waste so much potential.

There was that buildup to an -awesome- ten+ minute fight scene and then it just... did nothing. Like, yeah, I enjoyed the briefcase chick, but othr than that... I don't feel it had the sense of impending devestation it needed to really be a finale. I prefer the Neo v Yang fight to anything in this. I wish we'd seen more of Jaune - this would've been a perfect time for an explosive showing of him finally knowing his semblance. Seriously.

She could be either of their mothers, honestly. I'm leaning towards Summer. Hipster Huntress was the best part of that episode. Also lol @ Ulta mentioning Adam. More about post-credits lady So apparently her name is Raven Brawnen. Funny story about that. A while back, apparently, a wiki user by the name of "montyoum" put in Qrow's last name as Brawnen. It was removed because there was no proof. Qrow is supposed to be an uncle to the girls. However, no last name has been given. Why? It would either have to be Xiao Long (their father's last name), Rose (Ruby's mother's last name), or Yang's mother's last name. Ho hum. Points were also raised about the very surreal quality of the post-credits scene, something which I think is worth considering, as well as the oddly young appearance of Raven. Terennia	Yeah they're being really inconsistent with a lot of things - the way each character fights, the way they interact during combat, the villains... ugh, such a potential goldmine of a story but they're wasting it.

There was a huge build up to what could have a great cliffhanger ending, but everything was wrapped up in a nice, neat bow. Overall, the season was great, and a big improvement over S1. I'm interested to see where it goes from here.

I'm fine with wrapping things up nicely. My issue with it was that nothing significant ACTUALLY happened. No one died, no one important got defeated (unless you count torchwick, who's pretty much just a loud-mouthed tool), the end was just one big montage of every other character showing off their powers against random Grimm. That would've been GREAT for just any other episode, but not a season finally.

Like, barely managing to wipe htem out, civilian death totals being tallied and made statistics, the city being in obvious disrepair, having the characters get driven back to the courtyard at Beacon by the grimm before finally shoving them back...

I've been waiting to watch it because I want to be able to watch all of episodes in one sitting. Also just out of curiosity, whether or not if the season is done yet, how do you guys think it compares to the first season? I would read some of the above posts to see, but I don't want to risk coming across any spoilers on accident.
