Jaune is very obviously meant to co-main the show, given how much focus is on him (or at least main this arc, if that's all it is). Setting up a conflict, even one I disagree with, and then resolving it five minutes later is kind of lazy. Why bother introducing it in the first place? Furthermore, I think it would have been more useful to use Jaune's [radio edit]ups as a leader in order to teach Ruby, as well, who could recognize his faults and then simultaneously address his and hers, rather than just having her already being an (apparently) competent leader. The implication during the big battle was that she had a good head for strategy, but was still a pretty poor leader (for several reasons). Her development there seems pretty inconsistent.

Please turn these little subplot episodes into one episode, and stop delaying it. If the big fight scene episodes aren't ready yet, you should have held off longer to start everything, because there have only been a couple episodes worth watching so far.

These piddly little episodes with very few interesting scenes are really ruining the intended experience of this show (I assume).

I'm going to catch up soonish, but the pacing DID turn me away and I was kind of upset by that.

Spoiler: click to toggle Anyway, I'm glad the whole Jaune/bully thing got resolved. Having a life-or-death situation like that was exactly why I thought the concept of a school bully was dumb in the first place though. They're training to be put in life-or-death situations all the time, where they'll want to be able to depend on their allies. Having a classic school bully in that kind of environment just doesn't make sense.

Terennia	Soooo if not for Glinda's comment of "I don't care what his transcript says" earlier in the show, I'd think that the school is aware of his lying. As it stands, I'm still kind of in the believing that the headmaster probably is aware. And who else thinks he's probably a villain?

They don't seem like the kind of organization to be fooled by someone so dumb. As for the headmaster, don't think he'll be a villain. But I'm sure he'll have a very colorful past.

I originally suspected a connection between her and the Grimm, but I'm still suspecting a connection between the Grimm and the Faunus, so... Also, a conversation I had before the Black trailer was released with a friend had him commenting on her cat ears, when I said, "No, I think it's a ribbon." Everyone wins.

Even if a lot of it's fairly cliche, I'm liking how this characters and story are developing. I kinda wish the animation wasn't so awkward though.
