Valkyrie Profile, tied with Fallout 3. And Infinite Undiscovery gets a mention as well. (Sorry Tri-Ace) I am very, very particular with rpgs. |

Either FFIV or FFX. Granted, FFIII's one of my favorites, so take that for what it's worth.

Easily FF3 DS, the Famicom version is okay though Runner-up is Legend of Legaia, which might not actually be bad. It was hella long ago that I played that and I'm pretty sure the reason I disliked it was more because the save file ended up in an unwinnable position (inescapable dungeon with a save point, not strong enough to survive) which was due to my brother sharing the file with me. Following those two is Tales of Phantasia Related, I personally know someone who pre-ordered Chaos Wars. |

I haven't played ToP but I feel inclined to agree with you, mostly because I found Destiny's battle system horrendous and I think they're basically the same, and ToP probably has worse game design. |

Forgot Phantasy Star Universe (on ps2) I liked the gameplay but ift gets mention just because that game would not allow me to finish the story mode. I tried like 3 times and everytime the data corrupted forcing me to start over. I eventually gave up. |

Hmm. I don't generally look into a game to begin with unless I've at least heard it's good, but I have to agree that I was very underwhelmed by Tales of Phantasia. And even though I like FFII's system in theory, I think it was implemented very badly, which, combined with the typical early-FF pitfalls and uninspired storyline, really turned me off to the game. |

I'd have to go with Dragon Quest 8, Borderlands or Shadow Madness, they're all worthy candidates. I agree with Squee on FFII, it had potential but it wasn't executed very well. I can let the lackluster plot slide with the earlier FF games because they weren't bad for their time though. I wouldn't call them the worst RPGs I've played by any means, but Chrono Cross, FF8, and Persona 4 were disappointing to say the least. |

Worst game I've ever paid for, that's for sure. Not being able to select your own targets is beyond frustrating. THERE ARE SIX ENEMIES ON SCREEN. ONLY ONE OF THEM CAN HURT ME. WHY CAN'T I JUST KILL IT FIRST. I think mage knight ds takes the cake for worst game I've ever played, though. I was mad that I even d/l'd the game to begin with and wasted time on it. I can't imagine how badly I would've raged if I had actually spent money on it. The game felt so incredibly restricting with what you could do with your turns, it just wasn't fun at all. You mean to tell me that I can't move and attack in one turn? And that if I do, I take "push damage" and can't do anything the next turn? And because it's based on a tabletop rpg, there's the lovely critical miss that makes no sense ever (that also causes you to take push damage). Absolutely terrible game. |

There was a licensed Lord of the Rings game that was buggy and horrible and not even playable past a certain point. I still want a refund for my time playing it. |

Well there's Symphonia 2 and FFIII DS of course. Probably unpopular opinion, but I did not like Devil Survivor 2. Didn't finish it though... |
