Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

This isn't super on-topic or anything but the search function started working again.

my stalking prowess will be hindered no longer

edit: I'll actually contribute to thread.

The difference between General Discussion and Clan Commons is that one is about Temple, and the other is about anything outside of Temple. Picture Thread, meet-up topics, and personal issue topics are only in CC because it's a hidden forum. They used to belong in GD, thus their GD flavor. Moving these topics and the support topics from SSB into a private subforum (that wouldn't have an opt-in or opt-out option btw) of General Discussion would straighten this out. It doesn't make sense to have "Help me determine if I'm in an abusive relationship" in a forum about worldbuilding and clans. If a topic like this appeared once in a blue moon it could be tolerated, but that's not the case anymore.

In the discussion about what to do with topics containing personal details it was brought up that we should have a distinct forum just for these topics, but the idea was shot down because it wasn't anticipated that there would be more than five of these threads. That's not the case anymore. We have the picture thread, the handful of personal topics not posted in SSB, contact topics, culture club, meet-up topics, and even more beyond the first page that I'm not going to look for. That's a lot of material as it is, but now we have to consider all the very personal topics from SSB should we dissolve that forum.

So, we can choose to dump the private GD topics in Clan Commons and confuse it's purpose even more (again, that entails putting "Help me determine if I'm in an abusive relationship" in a forum about worldbuilding and clans), or create a new subforum for topics that demand privacy in the proper forum.

I do admit that the snack bar is pretty ambiguous and arguably can belong in either forum. It is a semi-roleplay set in a place within the temple grounds, but at least half the posts have nothing to do with temple and the RP module is abandoned. So eh.

Ah ha! If all RL/personal stuff ends up in Clan Commons, then it is only -natural- for environmental discourse to be based... in LUNA CLAN!

Who better to host the most pressing issues of the day than those heir to them?! We are the only ones that can handle the FIERCE GREEN FIRE!

:luna:

(Depending on how posts succeeding this play out, this post may or may not be serious.)
(AKA. I am totally down for this if the wind blows in my favor.)

So is Satty and Bowz the only ones who object to the personal/help forum idea? I mean the second poll's results are in majority by far for the creation of it, democracy, yes?

I don't really object, I just prefer streamlining over not. :3

Make the support forum opt-in, or...?

I wasn't even going to bother publicly objecting. It seemed like the odds were decisively against me, and it doesn't really matter to me one way or the other. I don't like the idea of a personal/help forum but it's not like I'm going to quit the Temple over it or anything.

I say nay 'cause we don't have that policy for any other forum, but I'm not too concerned either way.

The thing about the second poll is that it nullifies the first poll, which no longer reflects the consensus used for the second poll. There's no point in having both SSB and Support, honestly. That seems kind of silly.

Also, making the Support forum opt-in would also be kinda silly, given how many people seemed against opt-in for SSB. Opt-out would be the way to go, if anything.

Ryu, how does the opt-out mask stack with Clan masks? Can you check that?

I have no strong preferences either way regarding the actual topic of this discussion, but I find it interesting how the "personal life forum" evolved into "the support forum".

It was originally suggested as a 'support' forum, iirc.

Well the first poll did have a suggestion option, such a suggestion was made and had its own poll created for feedback and would eliminate SSB for it. The only problem is the second poll has fewer votes, perhaps some people who voted in the first did not check back to see if anything had changed with this, I dunno. Should we wait? Notify more people in the sb? A whole forum is about to be dissolved and all....

I haven't voted in either poll yet, because I'm not sure what the actual proposal is anymore.

I support doing away with SSB and having a more private forum for RL stuff (like the picture thread) and personal issues.

Announcement for anyone who wondered where SSB went for the next few minutes, I'm doing some testing to see if a joinable group to remove SSB would work. Bear with me.

Edit: Testing finished, I've returned things to how they used to be. Looks like a joinable group to remove SSB won't work as well as I hoped, we'd have to set the masks manually to remove it if anyone wanted to opt-out, which we could just set up a system with the joinable groups that'd alert the admins to do it.

Overall, it's possible, but not as streamlined as the opt-in group we have now.

Yeah, I figured something like that would happen. =s

But, I don't think we need an opt-out option for a Kradenette Life forum. "Your life offends me, I don't want to see it"... and besides that, just don't click the forum. >.>

The topics would show up on the front page under GD if we leave it where it is, though. Also, on the active topics page.
