Has anyone else watched this masterpiece of an anime? It is tied for my favorite anime of all time (tied with FLCL).

Off of wiki:
A young woman named Fuu is working as a waitress in a tea shop when she is harassed by a band of samurai. She is saved by Mugen, a mysterious rogue, and Jin, a young ronin. Mugen attacks Jin after he proves to be a worthy opponent and they begin fighting one another and inadvertently cause the death of Shibui Tomonoshina, the magistrate's son. For this crime they are to be executed. But with some help from Fuu, they escape, and Fuu asks them to travel with her to find "the samurai who smells of sunflowers."

It's amazing, and I recommend anyone to watch it. This was one anime that I actually think that you can watch either in english or japanese with subtitles without losing any emotion to the scenes.

Mugen and Jin are probably my favorite anime characters ever, they're such good compliments.

Thanks Poui.

Few months back I spent some time with a friend and we watched part of it in english, it was actually not bad as a dub. I never finished the series, but even so.

omg, I love you, Zuko. This show is easily one of my favorites. I watched it because I'd heard it was similar to Cowboy Bebop (same director, same sort of feel).

I agree that it's one of the shows where the English dub is at least equal in quality to the Japanese version.

That's the same reason I watched it too, because I loved Cowboy Bebop (still do, top 5 easily).

I just loved everything about SC, from the time period, the characters, the hip-hop twist on things, the show's nearly perfect. I just wished they made a second season or even a stand alone movie title.

uh oh

This is hands down one of the best raps I've ever heard.

Pretty much everything about this series is, well, just really good. I do prefer Jap Mugen but that's about it. Everything else I prefer english. Fav episode is probably the graffiti one, the baseball one, or the 2 parter with the blind swordswoman.

How can you prefer anybody over Steven Blum?

The soundtrack is pretty much amazing. Nujabes is awesome.

Steven Blum is the reason that the English dub isn't that bad, he's probably my favorite american voice actor.

Don't get me wrong, Steve Blum is awesome, the thing is I just really do prefer Jap Mugen. It's more 'thuggish' which is what Mugen basically is.

Oh for sure, same with Jin yet exactly different. Jin's japanese voice actor sounds much calmer and collected to me, fitting the ronin archetype better imo.
