Gravity Falls is a new Disney Channel animated show. Twins Dipper and Mabel Pines are sent to Gravity Falls, Oregon to spend the summer with their great-uncle "Grunkle" Stan, who runs a tourist trap known as the Mystery Shack. But while Stan's a sham, there's definitely something weird about the town. Pretty soon the twins have discovered a mysterious book and are encountering the supernatural. But if they stick together, they might just get to the bottom of things. Blending humor and horror, the show has been described as The Simpsons meets Twin Peaks, and it's definitely not your usual inane children's cartoon.

You can watch the series here.

Mabel is my spirit animal. I love her character. Really, the whole show is full of great characters. I love the dynamic between Mabel and Dipper. They actually like each other and support each other, even if they do tease.

Giraffes are adorable.

Watched the first episode. I probably will watch one per day in order to not get overwhelmed.

Is the fandom as big as something like Adventure Time?

Well, it seems to have a lot of enthusiastic fans. I've been feeling out the fandom a bit, but I'm not too sure of size or anything.

I've seen a few snippets of the show, and I really enjoyed it. I'll need to watch the rest of it when I can.

This show has so much good going for it I wouldn't be surprised if the fandom grows exponentially. Mabel and Dipper work so well together : ) .

I can't even handle this. Episode ten was just... so hilarious. All those gaming references. And Wendy keeps getting cooler.

Odyssey, ya see~ Odyssey, ya see~

I watched episode 10 because I was bored and loved it purely for the Final Fight reference they threw in. I should watch more of this sometime~

Yeah, I think you'd appreciate the sense of humor, Phoenix. It's a really fun show. And maybe the next episode you see will have more Mabel.

Okay so last night I caught up on Adventure Time episodes so I started watching Gravity Falls.

Disney Channel and quality television have become so utterly separated in my mind that I think this show has spawned an existential crisis for me.

Seriously, I love this show, Mabel is just the best freaking thing ever. Dipper is awesome in his own way too, though. I think the episode with the wax figures is my favorite one so far.

Yaaaaaay, Necare! I'm glad you like it. I too was surprised that it was on Disney, but I was hooked from pretty much the first gif, to say nothing of the first episode. Can't wait for more episodes.

Do it, Maddy, do it. Else Tumblr will spoil half the bits for you. (Not that they're not still incredibly funny on subsequent viewings, but still.)

Speaking of which, that's something else I love about this show; the episodes make casual references to past events, so it gives you a solid sense of time, but each episode can be enjoyed by itself. For now at least, because by episode four they've pretty much confirmed that there's going to be some kind of overarching plot, and I'm certainly not complaining about that.

I think I read on Tv tropes that Gravity Falls team had already planned out the whole plot, if that is so i'm good : ).
