Don't tell me you're one of *those* people ("if you want a story, read a book or watch a movie"). |

The storyline in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 1 and 2 really helped me want to continue playing. Interactive novels really do need a good storyline (I put Ace Attorney under this category) Things like platformers really do not need much of a storyline and really need to focus on the gameplay aspect. |

Platformers, sure. But RPGs need a compelling story to keep me interested most of the time. |

You aren't going to know they're there without playing the game, though. And if you look it up to find out, well, you can just look them up on the internet (or you probably saw them right then and there). |

I thought the item-and-formation-based battling mechanic was pretty interesting and far more strategic than standard JRPG fare, plus the decision making you had to do outside of battle and how it affected your stats, enemies, and items. The story is alright in Riviera too |

Tier lists are an interesting way to observe the popularity of characters and the like in games. :3 |

Hm, okay, fair enough. Back in MY day we didn't know danbooru existed and we had dial up internet, so we had to make do with our imaginations. And uh I guess to contribute: Assuming the company in question wouldn't get a cheap, bad English dub (based on past games, etc), not dubbing games is a bad thing. |

I'll further that tier list thing even further Tier lists are valid in competitive gaming, and have a real use in knowing character strength. But this doesn't mean a lot of people don't completely misuse them! |

I don't know anything about these popularity rankings, but the way Crash puts it seems fair to me. |

Well, tier lists reflect who's popular amongst players in tournaments and such. If it was just flat "how good are they?" then they wouldn't change, but they do in fact change from time to time as strategies and what not evolve. So it's a great way to see which guys are popular and which ones fell out of favor. |
