Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Giraffes are adorable.

I don't think mobile games are that horrible to gaming in general. It can be potentially a way to bridge those who do not play games otherwise to those who play "actual" games. Ever feel that, in the past, before mobile games people do not get why you enjoy video games so much (I was even made fun of when playing the old game boy pocket back when the GBC barely came out by stupid, sterotypical popular girls mocking me)? At least with simple, mobile games, people will get the thrill of what video games can offer in general.

Clones in games do not have to be a bad thing. In Brawl, I could never get the feel for Fox or Falco but Wolf just felt right to me.

and they can be developed further into being unique-ish like what happened with ryu/ken/akuma/etc

also about the mobile thing the only thing that bugs me is that 90% of the games are free-to-play with a billion microtransactions (and thus they make the gamer grindier than say disgaea to make you pay)

Yeah, the microtransactions are what get me with mobile games. Ports/remakes are good though (KOTOR, FFIV, FFVI, etc).

I feel that mobile gaming is a completely untapped market because nobody actually wants to bother tapping it properly. The games on offer are barely games at all, most of the time - as people say, they're just Freemium games that are huge and tedious grindfests with a ton of microtransactions to fill the void. I'd rather pay ten dollars for that game without the tedious waiting aspects included. Just give me a complete game, seriously. And since this is the case of something like 90% of the games on offer, I barely go for them.

Ports and remakes of older games for mobile, okay, acceptable I suppose. They usually don't look all that great - I really dislike the art in the FF remakes, for example - but it's better than the alternative. But people actually making new, original, and halfway decent games for mobile are incredibly rare, and that's why I think the whole thing is kind of a stupid sham until and unless devs actually start getting to that. And since it's so much more lucrative to make a Freemium game because people are stupid, well then!

This. Someone, somewhere is keeping the micro transaction business alive by actually using it.

Is this supposed to be an unpopular opinion? How old are the games you're thinking about? Nobody can honestly say that something as gorgeous as Legend of Mana (ps1) looks bad because it's old.

Maybe he meant old 3D games. Those basically all looked awful.

allright here we go

Sword of Mana >>> Secret of Mana
also Sword of Mana >>> Final Fantasy Adventure
FF5 is best FF
Cube World is playable and tons of fun even though it's not "yet" finished
Pokemon G/S/C has boring and ugly starters (if only Meganium continued the "razor leaf" thingy and didn't turn into a [radio edit]ing flower.. -.-)
FE8 > FE6+7
TLoZ Oracle of Seasons + Ages | Link's Awakening are the best Zelda games
TLoZ Ocarina of Time is kinda boring
as someone who started playing two days ago, Dark Souls isn't as hard as everyone says (the Gargoyles are a thing tho)
Terraria > Starbound > Minecraft
Tetris is fun and doesn't get boring
Heroes of Might and Magic IV > III
Sanic is boring and sheit
Megaman is fun but I don't like the design of 8 separate levels you access through the main menu
Starcraft 2 Campaign >>>>>>>>> generic battles against bots or people (did I mention I don't like using only the same few tactics over and over again just to be successfull)
the Original Binding of Isaac's graphics are better than Rebirth's

and finally

nostalgia > quality

I love linear games that tell me exactly where to go and what to do next.

If you're using the same few tactics and nothing else in SC2 multiplayer, you're doing it wrong. There's countless ways to play, it's an RTS after all.

And Sonic being shit is actually a very popular opinion lol

Depends on how far you're going back as to Sonic being shit. If you're including the first handful of games then a few people might protest, but if you're going from the Adventure era onwards, that's an extremely common opinion. Sonic just needs to... stop being a thing, I guess. But I doubt that'll ever happen.

I've never really played it aside from the campaign but if I don't rush stuff in a certain order/make sure to always handle everything at the same time against other people I will constantly lose and that's not really fun to me. also I love the originality of the missions in the campaign missions.

uh oh

what lief said is somewhat true. I got to diamond in sc2 and basically for the first 5 minutes of the game if things don't go exactly as planned you play at a massive disadvantage. Yeah you can go this or that style but it doesn't really feel like I could actually do whatever I want. Sure if you're way better than your opponent then do whatever, but matchmaking is supposed to match 2 evenly skilled players.

Oh, and I don't like Fallout. A lot of people are hyped for fallout 4, so I guess that makes my opinion unpopular.

Caveat: I love linear games, but I also like when you don't have to go there next. So I like it when exploration is an option, but it's crystal clear what you have to do next.
