The following are some guidelines for the Intros and Farewells forum. This isn't a post with more rules, it's just a way to help you follow the rules that are already in place and get the most out of your Temple experience. Thanks for reading! 1.) The Intros and Farewell forum is pretty simple. If you're new to the Temple, introduce yourself here! If you've just been away for a long time, go ahead and tell us that you've returned. If you're leaving, whether on vacation or for good, please feel free to make a topic letting us know. 2.) Intro topics are not clan recruiting topics. If the person introducing herself inquires about clans, go ahead and tell her about them, but while you can make suggestions about which clan she might want to join, please keep the jockeying to a minimum. We don't want to overwhelm new members or make them feel like little more than pieces of meat! 3.) Welcome memes can be charming, but be sure to give each new member some individual attention! It's not a contest to see how many topics into which you can paste the same paragraph. Engage the new member by asking about their interests or discussing something they mentioned in their opening post. 4.) When making an intro topic, be sure to tell us about yourself! We're a welcoming community, and we want to be your friends! Mention your favorite nerdy pastimes, how you found the Temple, your favorite Golden Sun characters, and, if you're comfortable, details like your country and gender. Don't be overwhelmed by a bunch of responses. There are a lot of Kradenettes, but we don't bite (unless you're into that sort of thing). 5.) This is also the place to announce absences. If you're going to be away for shorter than a week, it's probably not necessary, and a note in your sig would probably suffice, but we won't stop you either. 6.) This forum is not the place for ragequit posts. If you have a problem with forum members and are leaving because of it, then just cut your ties and move on. Do not foster drama, or your posts may be subject to deletion. This also applies to members responding to posts about a member leaving. Posts to the effect of "good riddance" may be subject to moderation. This does not apply to amiable departures or salutes, both of which are encouraged and appreciated.

Thank you for acknowledging this. I really was hurt by this. I also got very annoyed by the "join this clan/be clanless" thing. |
