I think they tell the Turbo backstory casually enough where it doesn't seem likely to show up again. Also, the bug/candy king/turbo hyprid monster was terrifying.

Edit again: I can see Candlehead in the back of the poster so the redesigned racer is not replacing her as this tumblr post claims.
