Yes, but for the most part, things being regulated are things that there wasn't much of an issue with. The whole point of this debate was about the size of theme weeks, and to a much lesser degree, their frequency. The proposal completely ignores the primary reason for the complaints raised about theme weeks. |

Yes, this proposition is exactly what we have now. -As Ryu said, holidays currently don't last more than a week anyways. -Two holidays per month is the natural maximum we have now without regulation. -Hasn't it been suggested that we should post a topic with who's who for a while now? |

They're theme weeks, not theme months, so they should only last a week. |

Do we have hard numerical data that a large amount of people have a problem with smaller theme weeks? Not that they prefer larger theme weeks, but that they dislike smaller ones to the point of wanting action taken to limit them? What I've taken from this topic is that, if anything, frequency is the bigger problem, not even so much size. Also that it seems to be a vocal minority that really wants smaller theme weeks limited. If you want to make a different poll or can provide quotes of, say, at least twenty members who feel this way, that would be helpful.

Let's just wait and see what happens.

poll is too vague, imo. I think you should specify what sort of limits you're talking about. |

I think it's okay for now. People can continue to specify that in posts, and if there actually does happen to be enough people for us to entertain limits on theme weeks, we can give that a new topic.

We'll do that after this poll shows if theme week frequency is even an issue with a significant group of users, Steve. It might not even be necessary and we'll keep things as they are. edit: or what Draco said. |

i honestly don't see why this is an issue as long as people participating in theme weeks put something in user title/sig/whatever else to identify them |

Yeah. So long as people actually identify themselves (Ninja, I'm looking at you). Really though, I would kind of like it if it was generally Temple-wide stuff, but that's just me. It makes it feel more meaningful that way. However, if it is really that important to you all to have theme weeks, like your rage is like the light of the setting sun*, then I'll leave it be. *John Mackenzie, "My love is strung with the ancient |

Since at the moment we have an eight and eight tie, and that's too close to call comfortably. However, I do feel the need to point something out: there were several more members beyond the ones posting here who were uncomfortable with the frequency and cliqueness of theme weeks, more or less, but didn't want to say anything about limiting it because they were afraid of being flamed or jumped at. I volunteered to raise it because a) I agreed and b) I don't mind getting yelled at. I just think that could be helpful for some perspective, this really isn't an 'evil Saturos and Were vs. the people' affair. |

If you could encourage them to vote in the poll, that would be great, since it's anonymous and will help us get a better idea of how people really feel about this.
