The Sailor Moon manga and the Sailor Moon anime are pretty different. ...Though I can't say for certain why they chose to remake Sailor Moon. However, I don't know I'd necessarily say Dragon Ball is more profitable. Despite the fact that nothing Sailor Moon left Japan for several years, the series still has a huge fanbase worldwide.
