It's a little bit like poetry, a little bit like lulz, and a little bit like truth. http://www.asofterworld.com/index.php?id=1 Read it. all of you. |

Meh. To be honest, I think ASW tries a little too hard to be profound. That's just my thoughts, though; what the hell do I know? |

I agree with the trying hard to be profound. It reminds me of beat poets who put way too many pauses for emphasis in their readings. I love when it goes for humor, that pretty much always works, but never the profound stuff for me, really. Plus, I've never been able to see past the XKCD parody. http://xkcd.com/144/ |

It's funny because they both try too hard to be profound.

ASW is being ironic with their profoundness, generally. Like this: http://www.asofterworld.com/index.php?id=3 Which starts out "Oh cool" and then suddenly "OH GOD WHAT." I dunno, it just works for me. <_< Though, with the non-ironic profoundness, it either works or it doesn't. If it doesn't do something for me I just shrug and move on, but if it does, then it's like "woaaah." I will say that ASW is one of the most hipster things I have ever seen. <_______< |

Yeah, that one was a funny one, I liked it a lot. I like xkcd a lot though, the profoundness always seems just right. |

xkcd doesn't usually strike me in a profound way, but I still adore it. I loved the recent strip about t-cells, though. xD |

Yeah, I usually just chuckle and move on when it misses the mark on profoundness. And it is, indeed, incredibly hipster. |
