And speaking personally, having seen a bit more anime now than I had then, you see a lot more of the tropes there. Doesn't mean it's bad, it just doesn't seem as "new and fresh" as it was the first time I saw it. To inb4Miral, "babby's first anime." I too need to rewatch it. Well for me it'll be a reread.

Soon I will be able to buy the rest and catch up with you! And, yeah, in the anime Endless Eight does weaken the season. But I liked seeing how they adapted the series, since you get an inherently more objective view of events than when you only have Kyon's POV narration in the books. So there's something of interest in each version.
