This. Only much sooner. I think for me was after I built a deck, and checked the new updated forbidden card list. Promptly set aside 3/4th my deck. Rage followed. |

Last I heard, a bunch of new support cards came out for the Samurai, and now they're wtf-awesome again. |

Aye, I've heard they're Tier 1 now >_> Ironically, SixSam are one of the last decks I tried to build just before I stopped playing, but failed due to money constraints. Managed to get 2 Hand of the SixSam and all D: I do agree with the inconsistency of the metagame though. It all costs so much and you can never tell when new cards/new banlist are gonna render something you paid a lot for obsolete. And due to the massive prices of so many decks, trading for them is nigh impossible :| I did enjoy the time I spent playing it though. I did get the chance to square off against pretty seasoned players in person at some tourneys I went to, and actually did surprisingly well. There were a few competitive players at my locals, but most of them were just little kids. Heck, the head of my locals actually made me Head Judge for a couple of 'em. That did mean I didn't get to play those times though. But yeah. Good times... |

4Kids was always claiming in the dub that electricity didn't affect rock types, when it's actually ground types. Annoying. |

But ban lists come out every 6 months...(March 1st and September 1st) If a deck type can OTK easily or has a huge advantage it gets hit. And that's about it... And yeah, Six Samurai are pretty broken now. Extremely good and really simple to use. Also, fun fact. To everyone complaining about the 1st season of the anime, that was made before the card game actually came out. Once the cards came out in Japan, the following seasons (Battle City arc forward) more or less followed the rules. GX and 5Ds followed the rules pretty religiously too. |

Oh, I'm aware of that. But the problem is, for someone like me who has few sources of income, it can take almost 6 months to actually scrape together enough for a high-end deck, due in part to the fact I have few chances to go to events because for some twisted reason our locals only went on once every... two months >_> And other events were far and few between. The only decks I have remaining are Zombies, which are awful nowadays, and Gladiator Beasts, which are alright, but I lack quite a few expensive newer cards that are apparently needed in today's builds. And I just lack the money to get any of it now :| |

Basically. Plus it was a shitty Onix as well; what gym leader tells it to use Bind? Brock "holy shit someone actually wants this shitty excuse of a badge I hand out to everyone I meet." Ash "Hi my name is ash and this is pikachu, he's electric. Hope you don't have ground pokemon!" Brock "Onix!" *Onix appears* Brock "Now, take advantage of his electric type and use a ground move! And by that I mean BIND HIM TO DEATH don't worry it only takes forever to kill him!"\ Pikachu "Pika!" *tackles* Brock "No my one weakness for rock types - normal moves!" Executives for pokemon company "Guys we are so much smarter than those guys! Of course pikachu beat Onix; the power of friendship is fueled by our profits, so he has infinite power!" *Executives participate in daily orgy for morale* |

He gets depowered in some way or another every once in a while. That's why he went from tieing in battle against a Latios in Sinnoh to losing to a Snivy in Unova. |

My great lament about Duel Monsters is that all of the excellent Decks are canned. I mean, they even all have the same names. I'd rather get a bunch of different cards from different sets and make a cool Deck, but that's not how Duel Monsters works anymore. That's also why my Direct Damage Deck, while it's able to put away Crystal Beasts, Exodia Decks of all sorts, Gravekeepers, and a few other canned Decks, it just doesn't have the steam to keep up with the likes of Blackwings, Ancient Gears, or Six Samurai. Basically, I hate Decks that let you summon a bunch of Monsters in one turn. Why have the [radio edit]ing rule if every single new set bends it? In the face of such Decks, even cards that should be stupendously good (like Jinzo, for example) are useless. >_> GSAlex is the last person I've played that managed to make a stupidly good Deck drawing from more than 2 major sources. |

Suezo tried making a deck using the Fish OTK, but he was missing a few key cards to do it properly. In other news, I heard it's much easier to use Des Croaking now. |

It has always struck me how stupid it seemed that Pikachu could take on high level pokemon and next season a face off with a low level pokemon end in defeat. |

Who would tell it to use Bind? The in game AI, since it knows it in the game. Plus, you know, he's the first gym leader and thus his Pokemon are below level 20. Not that that would matter, since to this day Onix can't learn a single ground type move by level up and the Earthquake TM is in Sylph Co/Giovianni's hands (depending on if you've playing the originals or the remakes). |
