Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

We're not getting this. A post from Christian Svensson himself on the Capcom forums:

Quote:

I'll be a little more clear.

The costs of localization are higher than the forecasted return. And no, it wouldn't sell more than Okamiden (which has already sold more than the first Investigations).

Could this content show up on some other platform somewhere down the line? Possibly, but there's nothing on that front for me to talk about. I realize there are fans who would like to have this and I'll be sure to explore ways that could happen viably in the future with our strategy and R&D teams but no promises.

So yeah, all this recent negativity over Capcom? Completely justified. Apparently we're back in the 16 bit days again begging companies to localize their products.

Now to panic over Phoenix Wright Vs. Layton.

I never really cared about the Edgeworth character myself which is why I never got the first one. I always preferred playing as the defense attornies anyway. But I am interested in the PW vs. Layton game even though at this point I have not touched a Layton game yet so this makes the future of that game being localized more uncertain. I do plan to try out the Layton games some time in the future.

Also Okamiden had loads more marketing as they learned from some of their mistakes from the first Okami game. Plus who would not want to preorder for this?

Yeah, I heard this news about a week ago when Svensson first mentioned that it wouldn't be happening. Capcom's been making some pretty piss-poor decisions lately.

All they have to do now is start making crappy games and they'll be the new SEGA.

The problem is they don't advertise Ace Attorney and leave it to word of mouth. It's a miracle it's become so popular on it's own. Investigations sold horribly, and now that the focus has shifted to the 3DS, the sequel would undoubtedly sell even worse. A shame; I really liked Investigations. Cases 2 and 4 were brilliant.

They did mention Phoenix Wright Vs. Layton is moreso up to Level 5 then them because they're the ones with more control over the game, so we'll have to see where it pans out.

Even so Capcom; advertising, do you use it? There's a reason CiNG went bust after all. ;_;

There's a petition going on to get the game localized. I don't usually believe in online petitions, but if enough people sign it, maybe Capcom will listen. It's got a good amount of signatures so far and it's just started.

Disappointing, but not honestly that surprising. That said, I admire your enthusiasm with the whole petition, but Capcom is a business first and foremost. If they're not going to make a good amount of money back from it, they're not going to make it happen, and that's pretty much end of story. I hope like the rest of you that they change their mind, but... *shrug* Yeah. Here's hoping.

Well I hear some are inspired to make a fan translation so we'll see how that works out.

Because advertising is expensive. There's a reason only big-name companies can advertise much, and usually only for selected games.

And about the whole thing: Apparently at this point, it's near-impossible to actually get stores to stock your DS games. So yeah.

Hey guys remember when Atlus said outright "We have no plans to localize Catherine." and then literally a week later or so they announced "We are localizing Catherine?" (i.e. they lied the first time)

So I wouldn't necessarily assume that we'll for sure never see it, it just might be a case of where they're going to do something different with it, like put it on 3DS kinda like how the first 3 games were originally Game Boy Advance
