Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

In Pokemon games, do/would you accept cloned Pokemon?

I'd rather be outside.

I tried to clone a Mew in Silver once. I ended up cloning the Miltank instead.

So much facepalm was had.

Ahahhahaha

I can't remember how it was that cloning worked in Silver, just that it had to do with PC boxes.

Giraffes are adorable.

Based from what I remember. Did not do it in years.

Gold and Silver: Take Pokemon you want to clone from the party. Put in a box. Change Box which requires you to save. As it is saving close the game. reopen and if all went well you should have the Pokemon both in your main part and in the box.

Crystal: Doable but much harder and riskier. You need to close the game while it saves at a precise moment or you can risk major glitches. I personally got graphical glitch where tiles tuned into question marks and the like. From then on I did my cloning in Gold.

I used the link cable method.

I did it correctly for a Celebi, but [radio edit]ed up the Mew, which was the one I was more interested in in the first place.

Yeah, the Box method was the one I used. I also had them all holding Rare Candies to get all my Pokemon up to lv. 100 :awe:

The box method was also useful in getting all Johto starters without trading. A bit more complicated to explain but holds a similar method to cloning.

From what I remember is you save once for real before getting the first starter, let's make it Chikorita. Catch two other Pokemon when you are able to and put Chikorita in the box and a second Pokemon. Change box and close while it saves. When you reload you will be in front of the starters again, so go for Cyndaquil, withdraw the vendor trash Pokemon, and put Cyndaquil in the box with where ever the Chikorita is, change box and close while it saves. Then get Totodile, withdraw Chikorita and Cyndaquil from the boxes and there you go.

I never knew how to clone when I played pokemon, but someone gave me a cloned level 100 Electabuzz and holy shit that thing was a beast so I guess I was on good terms with the whole cloning process.

Nope. I also only use Pokemon that are my own, even if the original trainer only ever had it as a level 1 or something - I don't even really like using my own Pokemon from a different game just because it has a different OT on its profile. And I rarely use a caught pokemon if it's over level 25 or so, in those cases I just make an egg and start from the beginning.
I'm kind of picky.

The abuse of the GTS in cloning has made me feel a bit more sour towards it because you wind up with people ruining perfectly good 'mon trading opportunities by putting up ridiculous offers of 'mons that are more or less commonly sought in order to get another copy of their "Super IV Ditto" or whatever.

Hey, at least it's better than "GIVE ME A LV100 *Insert cover legend here* FOR MY LV2 BIDOOF".

Oh, yes, because seeing 5 offers for Murkrow pop up and only getting "WILL ONLY TRADE 4 LVL 1 GIRATINA KTHXBAI" is so much better. /EYEROLL.

At that point in my life, I didn't use the Internet to help me with games. I just learned stuff myself and from word of mouth.

Someone told me about the box method, and I did the link method once, on accident. Cloned a Gengar.
