Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

Super Slash

Seperated by the four PoNRs (although the second one isn't really a PoNR). For the forgetful/lazy:

Segment 1: Start of game to the end of Konpa Ruins/Cave

Segment 2: Exit of Konpa Cave to the Cloud Passage thingie

Segment 3: Cloud Passage to the boat

Segment 4: The boat to the end of the game

That being said, here's my opinion:

Segment 1: Awesome! It has that classic Golden Sun feel for the most part, you get a nice throwback to the old games (Psynergy Training Grounds), you get to see Isaac and Garet, you meet Kraden, you meet a batch of villains, and fight a relatively hard boss battle at the end of the segment. Very little complaints here, other than the absurd amount of dialogue when you first start.

Segment 2: Still pretty good. Ayuthay as a whole was really fun and I loved that area where you fight the Ice Queen. Again, Ayuthay is awesome; really peaceful, nice music, great atmosphere... Easily one of my favorite locations in the GS series. Kaocho was kinda cool, but too small, and Passaj was just okay.

Segment 3: This segment starts off weird. I felt like I was playing LoZ: The Minish Cap at first. The ruins in this segment had some interesting puzzles, and the awesome battle music came back. Te Rya and the place that follows it was pretty cool, but after that is where things start going a bit downhill. Without spoiling much, I got tired of traveling back and forth between some relatively boring towns. It really picked up towards the end of the segment, though; the dungeon that closes it was pretty cool. And you can get an awesome summon afterwards.

Segment 4: This one is my least favorite. It was still not all that bad, but you don't have as much freedom as you did in TLA, and the islands you do get to visit don't have much on them. And the side quests were kinda underwhelming. Still not a bad segment of the game though; I enjoyed seeing some more returning characters, for one thing.

Um.

The part I enjoyed the most was definitely the ending.

There wasn't much flexibility in terms of gameplay and sidequests, but the story had taken a seriously dark turn and I enjoyed no longer questing for a goddamn roc feather

Segment 1: Start of game to the end of Konpa Ruins/Cave

- Worst and most boring, felt like a kiddie game.

Segment 2: Exit of Konpa Cave to the Cloud Passage thingie

- Probably second favourite! Really get a sense of Alchemy coming back to Weyard, and every Alchemy thing was just like HELL YES! And sneaking past the guards in Ayuthay was awesome; I loved those guys. I felt like I was in a game-within-a-game, the classic "zomg military tyrant," and I generally enjoyed that subplot.

Segment 3: Cloud Passage to the boat

- I found it got kinda slow here, although the Zodiac tower was great. Still very fun, plus Sveta! :3

Segment 4: The boat to the end of the game

- Fresking badass and grim, I absolutely loved the atmosphere here, and I think it really made me step back and go "... Wow. So this really is more than just a GS-clone." It really felt like a +1 level up, I think.

Overall good, of course!

I liked them all about the same except for Zodiac Tower because it's better than the rest of the game IMO.

Segment 1: Start of game to the end of Konpa Ruins/Cave

Incredibly boring and slow. I didn't even like this part on my first playthrough >_>

Segment 2: Exit of Konpa Cave to the Cloud Passage thingie

Pretty good. Fun dungeons, and Amiti joins. :awe:

Segment 3: Cloud Passage to the boat

Good. The glorified fetch quest finally ends, and it has some cool locations.

Segment 4: The boat to the end of the game

Very good. Finally some freedom, a full party, eventually a full lot of Djinn, and the Apollo Ascent and Sanctum had a great atmosphere. Then there's bonus stuff <3

Segment 1: Start of game to the end of Konpa Ruins/Cave

Like Satty said, it felt like a kiddie game. But getting introduced to the game was exciting enough by itself, so I didn't care. I enjoyed learning the plot, new characters, and seeing Isaac, Garet, and Kraden.

Segment 2: Exit of Konpa Cave to the Cloud Passage thingie

Pretty cool. Finally get to explore the cool new towns, stuff starts happening.

Segment 3: Cloud Passage to the boat

Nifty, I can see what Slash means by Minish Cap. Plot starts to get pretty epic.

Segment 4: The boat to the end of the game

Plot gets super epic, but everything's got this damper for me, since you can't explore old towns. Plus, the whole DOOM eclipse areas are scary. Ending is somewhat disappointing, but overall, the epicness of everything else makes up for it.

Segment 1: Start of game to the end of Konpa Ruins/Cave

Adventure time, adventure time! We're gonna go on a fun adventure to get a feather and meet Kraden and fix the Soarwing (and maybe get to fly it after that) and stop those vortices. This'll be super awesome!

Segment 2: Exit of Konpa Cave to the Cloud Passage thingie

Wow, interesting twist. The party's on their own in a new place. I wonder what sort of adventures will happen next. I guess we'd better make straight for reuniting with Kraden. ... Well, okay, I guess it's understandable that there would be some sort of obstacle in the way. We'll just have to fix the machi- Okay, I guess that will have to wait while we do a bunch of frankly boring stuff. Hey, new party member! Cool, a Mercury Adept guy. ... ... Okay, this is kind of boring, can we please just fix the Alchemy Forge already?

Segment 3: Cloud Passage to the boat

FINALLY out of that region. Ooh, Zodiac dungeon. This is pretty cool. And back in the northern regions. Plot-important NPCs with personalities (and who remind me of Zuko and Iroh). And what's this? Some shadowy figure in the ruins? Awesome, the plot is thickening. And we're at the Mountain Roc, and we have to save Eoleo, and ... why are we detouring to Kolima? What's with all this blah blah delay? Okay, okay, we get Sveta for realsies, and Pewter's a cool little guy. And at least the bit with Crystallux and then Volechek, that's pretty cool. Things are kicking into gear! One last party member to go, one big eclipse to stop, there must be tons more fun and adventure and plot waiting around the corner!

Segment 4: The boat to the end of the game

... You kidding me? These fetch quests take up the rest of the game? We don't actually finish the quest we started at the beginning of the game? Admittedly there's some interesting stuff going on here and there, but, look, if I wanted to sail around and gather plot coupons, I'd play Windwaker, man. ... Okay, this ending dungeon and bosses and series of cutscenes is really amazing and exciting and almost makes all the pain it took to get there worthwhile.

Segment 5: After-credits custscene

Camelot: You mad, bro?

Me: FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU-

Wombo Combo

basically the entire ayuthay-kaocho-passaj section was badass and then the dungeon under Belinsk was the best dungeon ever, due to some extreme bass in the sicknasty jams and some awesome puzzles that all related to the elements and the whole Dynamo cutscene and Luna is canon and what not. Other than that the only part outside of battle that really impressed me was Apollo Ascent.
